pretty straight forward job. but you need to take front off for access. which means top comes off first. so must unstack washer/dryer. check out repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com for how to videos.
stacking was just a gimmick to save space
put the drier on a suitable stand , table or it is possible that there are holes in the back section for a mounting bracket to hang it on a wall
To answer your question, as long as it is indeed a frontload washer with the dryer on top, yes they can be replaced individually.
The model number provided is only partial, therefore I can`t verify the unit is frontload or an Kenmore integrated "laundry center" built by frigidaire.
You can reply with a model number, but as I alluded to if it is frontload, no problem.
Good luck going forward. Thank`s for choosing FixYa. Let me know if you require further assistance.
Hi,
you will need to unstack the dryer unfortunately, then remove the three screws at the back of the top washer panel and it will slide back about 2 or 3cm and up away from the unit. Then you will see how to remove the valve.
Hope that answers your question. Thanks for visiting "fixya". Let me know if you require any further assistance and good luck.
Macmarkus :)
The dryer front is usually held on by two screws in the cabinet just under the top of the dryer. Yes, they'll have to be unstacked and the top on the dryer popped loose to access these screws.
Sounds like the main control board instead of the interface. Remove top and locate CCU. Shold be on R side or rear at the top. Unplug all connections and replug. See if that helps. If it helps and it happens again, replace the board. FYI. Whirlpool electronics are horrible for loose connection problems.
Yes it can.
Access bolts to the feet should be visible from the rear of the unit. Failing that, the top screws of the bottom appliance should undo, and the top appliance (with lid of lower one) should slide back 1" allowing it to be taken off.
Be careful not to damage this lid section in the move, and further removal can restore it back to two appliances again.
If this helps, Please take a moment to rate as Fixya! Thanks.
Chainsaw, no seriously the dryer is bolted to the washer and not all of them can be unstacked. Remove the front panel of the dryer to expose the bolts holding it down. this only works if your washer is of the front loading type. if it is a top loader there should be some sort of frame the dryer is bolted to. after removing the dryer from a front load stack washer, the washer may or may not have a top panel on it
