Vertical very this coloured lines in band about third of way across screen from right hand edge what is the solution to fix this problem
Sounds like COF (Chip On Film) strip fault. Check this link for more details. There is illustrations [screenshots] and reasons to plasma displays. Check it out, and compare them with your TVs fault. Pull up older posts there.
I have had a look inside and disconnected the C1 board ribbon which feeds the same area of the screen where the vertical very thin coloured lines (see photo in earlier post)are and I then get black band over the same area but also get the same thin lines also so not sure that it is to do with this board or ribbon seating on to this board .can you advise on other possibilities or should I just through this set out? if it is the screen does anyone have idea how much they are to replace? Any other suggestions or could it still be the c1 board ?

there is nothing you can do.the display panel is defective and you must replace it

Hi,
The problem is in vertical section and the faulty components are :
1- Capacitor
2- Transistor
most probably the poped capacitor must be the reason, check and replace the faulty components.
Thanks for using fixya.

do the proper isolation proceedure and try unhooking the Su from the SC board to see if you then get a normal picture all the way across the bottom half of the screen? I am assuming the Vertcal extends extends all the way from top to the bottom of the screen?
