If your Toshiba photocopier is not printing in black and white but is printing in color, there are a few possible causes and solutions to try. Here are a few things you can try:
Make sure the machine is set to print in black and white. Some photocopiers have a setting that allows you to choose between color and black and white printing. Check the settings on your machine to make sure it is set to print in black and white.
Check the toner cartridges. If the black toner cartridge is full but the machine is still not printing in black and white, there may be a problem with the cartridge. Try removing the cartridge and shaking it gently to redistribute the toner inside. Then, clean the contacts on the cartridge and the machine to ensure they are making good contact.
Check the fuser unit. The fuser unit is responsible for heating and fusing the toner onto the paper. If the fuser unit is not working properly, it can cause the machine to not print in black and white. Check the fuser unit for any damage or debris, and clean it if necessary.
Check for any error messages. If your machine is displaying any error messages, try to troubleshoot the problem based on the specific error message. You may be able to find the meaning of the error message and a solution in the user manual for your machine.
If none of these solutions work, you may need to contact Toshiba for technical support or service. They may be able to help you diagnose and fix the problem with your machine.
Have a look at your printer software settings. You may have it set to black and white only. There may also be a driver that was missed during installation to allow colour printing. Try reinstalling the software.
as long as the color print cartridges remain in the printer you should be able to print in only black and white.
If the error message does not come up you should be able to tell the
printer to print in black and white in your page setup or print properties portion when you go to print your page.
(1) go file print or print (2) a gray box will pop up click on properties
(3) Click color (4)click gray scale
This should do it for you! (5) select black print cartridge only
Open the printer as if to replace an ink cartridge. On the print head there is a black plastic arm about 2 inches long. Re-connect this with the white cog wheel so that the protruding part is in the center of the black arm. Close lid, power on and job done.
That's a process problem with that machine.
May require a service call .ON and OFF is pretty much all a customer can do and wait for it to setup. NOTE: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
