I own a KitchenAid KSCS25INSSOO - side-by-side refrigerator. The serial number is #SS4037843. The unit is between 3-4 years old and has been operating quite nicely in our kitchen since we bought it. It still works fine, but I've noticed that recently the 2" wide face of the center partition wall is getting very hot (not warm - hot !). Even the vinyl/magnetic door gaskets that seal against this thin center wall are getting hot Concerned, I pulled the frig out from the wall and vacuumed behind. At this point I noticed that the removable access plate on the bottom/back of the frig was hot as well. I did a little research online and it sounds like the cooling fan is not operating properly. Curious if there are operational features that I am not aware of that might solve the problem, or if it is time to call for service. If it is time for service, How can I check to make sure that I don't pay more than I should ?
Thanks very much -
Steve W.
Hi,
Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing then check out the last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Condenser fan is unobstructed, Coils were very dirty, I had always cleaned along the front, but I see you have to force your way back in there. So, what about a overload switch? I guess I have to check power coming into the condenser but I don't see any good test points
