How do I fix paint chips on the hood?

I suggest you keep touching in the spots and building up the level over time until it is slightly proud of the surrounding paintwork. When fully hardened the surface of the spot should be flatted with a small block. I use the end of a short piece of 3/8 or 1/2 inch wooden dowel with a circle of fine abrasive paper glued to it. I sand wet and begin with 600 grit and finish with 1000 or 1200 grit. Once the area is flush it can then be polished with a polishing compound such as farecla and finished with T-cut.
A coat or two of lacquer can be applied or a few coats of hard wax polish.

I have some chips on a Findlay cookstoves enamel. It is old and the enamel is light green.Any ideas where I may find something to touch it up?

There are several brand of touch-up enamel paint for appliances. Krylon for example, it's carried by a wide variety of retailers such as Home Depot, K-Mart, Sears and Walmart.

You can also get it at store that specialize in paint like Sherwin Williams. They might also be able to give you the best match to your color. If not you can try appliance stores. They may be able to give you a good match. The only other option is to match it yourself. The best way to to that is to get some color card examples from a paint store or hardware like Home Depot and find the best match. Now get a list of the colors that they use to mix it. Ask if you can get a very small amount of the colors used in the mix and using trial and error mix it yourself.

You can also try mixing it to get your color using enamel auto touch-up paint.

There really is no source for old appliance touch-up paint so it will never be perfect but with a little trial and error you can get pretty close.
Hope this helps you out.

Prep before painting:
  • Sand the damaged area lightly with fine-grit sandpaper. Roughen the area to be painted and remove any rust, but avoid sanding the surrounding surface.

  • Clean the area thoroughly with a rag dampened with paint thinner. Let dry.
  • Paint over scratches with appliance touch-up paint, using the bottle's applicator brush or another fine-tip paintbrush. Let dry overnight.
There will be issues with areas that are exposed to high heat so be prepared to repeat when necessary.

How to remove scraches from ceran top

Clean the stove top thoroughly. I use oven cleaner to clean my stovetop. It works wonders. Be very careful not to get the cleaner on any part that is not ceramic finish.

Then, lightly spray Appliance Paint on the scratched area. You can purchase this paint at any hardware or Home Improvement store. It comes in several of the standard appliance colors.

If you need to use more than one coat, wait several hours between coats. Better to use several light coats than one heavy coat. A single heavy coat will tend to chip.

I have a 2007 zx10 r green with a small rock chip in the front of the petrol tank ??paint touch up pens or small pot?? mike

How much work as opposed to riding do you want to do?
Pens are not the best choice but when you consider the time and money involved with prepping and painting for an invisible repair then they look much better. If you use a pen there are a couple things you can do to improve the end results. First, wet sand the chipped area. The idea is to smooth the edges of the chip. Second, Clean it then before you use any paint, build up a couple layers of primer. Primer is better at filling and will not shrink as much. Finally make sure that the area is as clean as possible. Then apply your paint. Don't be afraid to go higher then the surrounding paint. You will wet sand it again. Now depending on what kind of paint it is you will either touch it up with some clear or buff it out.
Make sure you allow plenty of time between coats for drying.
Good Luck.
