Best thing you can do is call 888-Best-Buy and schedule a service call. I wish i could tell you if it would be a repair or replace situation, but that will greatly depend on the part availability for your TV.
Insignia parts are often very hard to find (only 2 or 3 parts vendors in the US) so the sooner you call the better your chances of a quick repair.

Yes and NO your tv is a LED. To be exact it is a LED Backlight LCD TV. An LED-backlight LCD television is an LCD TV that uses LED backlighting instead of the CCFLs used in traditional LCD televisions. It is not a true LED display but is called "LED TV" by some manufacturers.[1] The use of LED backlighting has a dramatic impact, resulting in a thinner panel, less power consumption and heat dissipation, and a brighter display with better contrast levels. You can go to http://www.regza-asia.com/pdf/LEDTV/XL700/47XL700SPEC.pdf and look at the complete specs for your tv

Your TV has a light sensor that changes the brightness of the TV based on room brightness.
It's called an "Intelligent Sensor"
You can turn this off in your "Picture" settings. Congrats on such a nice TV purchase. If this was helpful, please rank me a 4.
