the signal comes from comcast cable box. the picture and text looks fuzzy. Haven't been able to sharpen the picture or text using the sharpness or contrast controls.

What generates this text? For example is this a signal that comes from a cable box or DVD player?

If all else fails call Sanyo @ (800) 877-5032

If this problem is happening on a regular TV channel and does not appear when watching an HD channel or while watching a DVD then most likely you have no problem at all. What you are seeing is actually the LOW Definition signal sent for regular TV programming that used to look pretty good on a small tube style screen but now is enlarged on a screen capable of incredible accuracy and is displaying all of the poor quality attributes of standard definition TV.

I'm going with JR on this one. Also, there is something else you might want to check out with Comcast. I had them and decided to go with Verizon's FIOS packge which I LOVE!

Nevertheless, find out from Comcast where your address falls on their "signal strength tree." Its located in Comcast's nearest substation to your home's address that services your area. Believe it or not, but your position in their "tree" can and will determine the strength of the signal you receive from them.

As info, should you have their "triple play" meaning phone, internet and TV services, your internet speed, phone signal, etc is all affected by the signal you receive from Comcast. Remember when it comes to internet, which of course I know you didn't mention, but if you don't have the RAM to process the info/signal, it won't matter how strong that signal you're receiving is. Your television issue is, of course, a different matter--RAM doesn't enter into your equation.

You'll be able to obtain this information by calling their Tech Support Dept also opened or use to be on Sundays.

Hope this helps!

Have a good one!

My sharp 32c540 picture is dark since i bought it brand new 6 years ago.

You may just have to make a different kind of adjustment.

This is what is called a direct view or crt type TV.

Inside on the main board (see attached photo) is the "flyback" transformer.

Note the two little controls embedded in it----top one is focus--leave it alone.

Lower one is SCREEN and a very slight upwards or right adjustment will bring the overall brightness up.

You want to adjust it just till with brightness on set all the way up you have a normal picture.

Too much and you get excessive brightness and trace lines and or further too much shuts set off.

Some sets have two holes in back of cabinet and small tool can get in and adjust the LOWER or screen control and others the back has to be removed.

Lay set face down on padded surface, remove back screws and set upright---do not touch anything inside with set on when you make the adjustment--control is plastic and a plastic tool a good idea--I have used regular screwdriver but know what not to do.

Let me know if you have questions 98% chance just need the Master Screen bumped up a little bit.

Mitsubishi WS-65611 Repair kit from TV-Repairkits.com no fix.....

I have a few ideas but they all will require some more information from you. I know these sets very well-if you fixed the convergence problem my hat is off to you--it can be a do it yourself job but not the most easy set to do it on.

Let me assume you adjusted the convergence in the customer mode--it does on any of the HD models have to be adjusted in the regular and then the HD modes.

The only other thing here that may be the problem is FOCUS. A simple way to determine this is to remove the back cover--turn the set on and call up the advanced convergence grid---then cover the lens for each tube one at a time--with red and blue lens covered are the lines in sharp focus or look blurry?

Repeat this with only red or blue not covered and see what you think--if one of the tubes is out of focus you will see it there--

There is also a TECH menu for adjusting the convergence-like the customer menu but it saves the adjustments into the set's memory--you will need to hit menu and a four digit code based on the actual model number of the set.

Check to see if focus is or is not your problem-easy to tell--green, red, blue lines will either be sharp or out of focus--if out ask and I will tell you the simple way to adjust that.

If this information has helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Certain aspect of my sanyo tv are very blurred

This problem requires adjusting the Focus on the flyback . Turn the tv around and look for adjustmen slots on the back. If you can see them, use a nonmetalic small srewdriver and slighty adjust the top or left one. Be careful, it is the high voltage area

How do I adjust the HD quality for a crisper picture? I have tried Magic Focus, but need to know where the sharpness or contrast can be tweeked .

The magic focus function is to electronically align the red, green and blue beams. So all it can cure is colored ghosts. The contrast, brightness and sharpness adjustments are in the customer menu settings. With the remote just push menu and select video or picture adjustments. Those adjustments are in there.
