GE Simon XT Motion Sensors won't Disarm

I just installed a new Simon XT in my home. Pretty straightforward except for two issues. 1. When I disarm the system (and yes it disarms and says disarmed, and ok), then pass through a motion sensor area, the alarm goes off and say motion sensor. How do I get the motion sensors to not activate the alarm when the alarm is off? )I know how to bypass and unbypass, and that is not the issue) 2. When the sensors set of the "disarmed" alarm, the machine calls my cell phone (which I programmed it to do) 3 or 4 times before declaring a communication failure. My cellphone touch tone keys won't let me acknowledge the system with the * key. Any ideas?

It appears you have the "CHIME on Motion" enabled. Follow the Option 41 steps to disable it.

Option 41 - Voice Chime
The panel will verbally announce which chime sensor has been tripped if the chime
feature is on.
Add enables chime voice.
1. Open panel cover. Panel announces, Use numbered keys to enter ID.
2. Enter Access Code using the numbered keys. Panel announces, Please select from
Start Menu.
3. Press Add from the Start menu. Panel announces, Select from main menu
4. Press Option #. Panel announces, Option 1, press again for next option or done to
select.
5. Press 41. Panel announces, Option 41, press again for next option or done to
select
6. Press DONE. Panel announces, Option 41 is on.
Delete disables chime voice. The panel will not announce which chime sensor has
been tripped but will still chime 2 times for doors and 3 times for motion sensors when
a given sensor is tripped.
1. Open panel cover. Panel announces, Use numbered keys to enter ID.
2. Enter Access Code using the numbered keys. Panel announces, Please select from
Start Menu.

Ds 924 motion detector

It may have been previously learned into a zone. Sometimes, the motion will trip and activate a signal that can be learned into another zone you are trying to program. exit programming, then "tamper" the cover for the circuit board, not the battery access, on the motion, check the "status" light to see if a zone is displaying "tamper". Also check battery orientation in back of motion. When battery is first installed correctly. The light should activate during the first minute.

Just bought a simon xt system and setting up the touchpad. the touchpad can arm the system but it won't disarm the system when I type in the code?

Note: The default master code is 1-2-3-4 when the security system is shipped from the factory. You should change your code after your system is installed. See Code options on page 26.

If you have already changed the default master code, press the numbers in for the correct code and press enter.

Barring a faulty system the correct code and then 'enter' should sub-disarm or disarm.

Hi! Just had ADT install security system and it is a Simon XT. Door units, motion sensors and control unit are in house. They also put a motion sensor in garage, which is detached. My understanding is...

My understanding is that GE does not produce a wireless interior siren any longer. So if yo want to get a siren in the garage a wire will have to be run from the Simon 3 to the location in the garage where you would like to place the siren. PS ADT will not run wires to a detached garage. GL
