No, the sd card is not needed for wireless. In the bottom right corner you have an icon, press on it and select WLAN PROFILES, add a new one and start to work.

I had setup the symbol on one of our client computers not the server computer which caused a problem with syncing the inventory information with Restaurant Pro Express. With RPE there is a single "server" computer that all of the client computers send and receive their information to and from. The Symbol MC50 must be setup on this server in order for the information to sync properly.

Just upgrade the software on it to version 21 from Motorola site

Go for MC70 if you need phone facilities.
If you don't want this take 5590 it's new device and much better

try hard reset... 1+9+power button

maybe you can execute the AEGIS client(folder Application) or NICTT (folder Platform)

May try running a program called ScanWedge in the application area "File Explorer"

Try a soft reset by pressing the reset button on the back of the unit, this will often re-enable the scanner.

Also go to Start>Settings> Symbol Settings to test the scanner operation.
