My washer (same model) is now doing that exact same thing, and today it sounded like one of the pumps started "moaning". I have the same problem. The technician seems to think it could be the water is not emptying during cycles. It keeps adding water as the cycles continue and therefore over flowing the tube when it spin. He thinks it could be a water level sensor. Not sure at this point.

First thing I'd check is connections at machine where hoses attach. Shut off water and remove and inspect little screen like filter to trap dirt at machine, to make sure they are not plugged up. Is it happening on both cold and hot?
The drain pump os obviously either blocked or gone. Lie the drain hose on the ground to drain by gravity. Then have a look at the pump. This may need to be taken out as I'm not sure if there is a pump filter on this particular model. The door is designed to not open with water in the drum.
I have a Maytag neptune mah8700aww
With mine the large grey rubber seal that seals at door slipped off! When this happens if you do not put back on correctly it will leak or even poor out the front center bottom of the door! My husband fixed it. But it still leaked really bad! I just took a couple of min. to refit the seal and it does not leak at all now! maybe your seal is not placed around the edge correctly! as it is easy to place it wrong! good luck!! keep my email address if I was helpfull!! We can always share problems and solutions for our neptunes in the future ! good luck

Maytag Appliances are ****!! Don't buy Maytag. Spent $2500.00 in 2005 on Maytag Neptune washer and dryer. They have been nothing but trouble. Washer has water running in tub constantly. Recall on ground and recall on footing. Dryer making loud noise when drying clothes. The Maytag man is dead and gone.
I have a maytag neptune front loader (MAH8700AWW) unless I turn the water off @ the faucet the water continues to run into the washer after the load is done .How can I fix this.
