Solve Windows Xp File missing errors

You may be very familiar with the common messages while operating with windows which says that some files are missing. This may sometime cause you to lose your data or lead to abnormal termination of a program which requires the support of that particular windows file.Sometimes these file missing problem can be so severe that you may not be able to boot into windows.Such kind of problems occur when we accidentally delete some of our system files either manually or while the anti virus program on our system shows that the file is infected and on its prompt for what to do next, we will choose to delete the file.Well these problems can be solved if you have got a disc of Windows Xp Service Pack2.
If you are able to boot into windows then from the start select run and then run “cmd”.Then the command prompt window appear and after inserting the disc of Windows Xp ServicePack2 in the drive, in command prompt type “SFC/SCANNOW”.The system will then search and copy the windows missing file.
If the file missing problem is so severe that you are not able to boot into windows then, boot the windows using the Windows Xp disc. Then continue the process for installing a fresh copy of windows. While you advance through the process, the windows displays previously installed windows. From there the installer will ask you to press R to repair the existing windows.Press R and the windows will do the rest for you.

I cannot boot up my Microsoft Windows 7 due to a corrupt ntfs.sys file. I can access command prompt through computer or cd. Please help!

As you are able to access command prompt, you can run the "System File Checker" tool to repair/ replace the corrupted ntfs.sys file. To do this, follow the instructions below:
1.Restart your system and tap F8 key repeatedly until you see Advanced Boot Options menu on your screen. If you miss reaching the screen in the first attempt, repeat this step until you reach the screen.
2.On the Advanced Boot Options screen, select "Safe Mode with command prompt"
3.In the command prompt window, type "SFC /scannow" (without quotes).
Note: There is a space between C and / in the command above.

This will scan all your protected system files and replace the corrupted files with a cached copy stored in your system.
Important: Please do not close the command prompt window until the verification is 100% complete. After the process is completed, the scan results will be displayed on your screen.

To know more about System File Checker, you can refer to the following Microsoft support page:

Hope this will help you.

Why would you torture yourself with that old thing?  Yeah, you can create more boot script lines...they should designate the proper root for the second volume and that ought to fix any missing file issues if indeed ICG32.dll and company are where they started....
