I have a GE front loader washer that’s 1.5 years old that will not drain water once it reaches the rinse cycle. The problem has seemed to get progressively worse over the past month. Initially the washer kept going through the unbalanced load fault. In that it would not spin. Now it won’t drain water out nor will it spin. I called GE repair and their service charge is $80 just to come out and then they’ll tack on additional parts and labor. If anyone has advice, please help!!!

We had same problem. The pump was all clogged up with fabric debris, and a part of a metal bra liner. I removed the pump and cleaned it out. Now it seems to work fine, and went through a complete cycle. Ther pump was accessed from the front, and was not too hard to remove.

I too had this problem - there are two causes per the appliance tech that came out - one is the pump getting clogged - then you have to remove and clean it out. The other is a safety thing for small children - when it is too off balance the "brain" makes it go off so nothing can get smashed. Tell the difference: if you can hit start and it restarts mid load then a few minutes latter goes off again it is safety - if it does not restart it is pump

I have a WSXH208 ge front loader It started to fill was and then in the middle the water pumped out but did not finish and clothes were sopping wet, Drum stopped spinning. what could be wrong

all front loaders will not go into high spped spin if there is water in the tub.You should first remove the bottom panel and check the water pump for blockage. Some units have a sscrew style filter to catch debris befor it enters the pump impellor.when you unscrew the filter make sure you have a wet vac handy.

My machine doesn't rinse and drain properly, sometimes the clothes are sopping wet

Maybe you just need to change the motor brushes. YouTube has some great videos. Spares here on Fixya. Did you check out your filter?

Clothes are sopping wet even after doing the spin cycle 3 and 4 times, water is going through hose fine it seems, it a front loader

Hi

This issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

Front loading washer - water is not spinning out, clothes are sopping wet

Hi- Depending on the model the drain pump filter may be clogged; sometimes the drain pump impellers get damaged as well and do not pump out the water efficiently. If it seems to be coming up to full spin speed it is likely an issue with the pump. I'd run a Rinse cycle without any clothes in it and see if all the water drains out. The washer will not got up to full spin if it senses that there is too much water in the clothes (too heavy) to prevent damage to the machine. Probably best to get a Tech to come out an look at it. Good luck.

After the wash cycle is complete the clothes are still wet.

Open the machine and remove the drain pump. Clean out any debris and try again.
Remove the front panel.
The pump should be directly in front of you. Open it and clean it.
This procedure will have to be done occasionally.

Spin Cycle doesn't work on our GE Energy Star frontloader, please help

You may have to remove the lower panel and clean the drain pump filter. Easy job, once the panel is removed the filter will be right in front. Get a bucket and unscrew the filter cover (3 very small screws at the bottom of the front panel) and you should find a ton of lint and stuff in there. This model has a pressure switch that detects if there is water in the tub. If so it will do this pause and slow spin. Once the pump filter is clean you should be good again. It worked for me.

Clothes are still sopping wet when finished

If your clothes are wet after the wash it is quite possible your outlet filter is blocked. Check this out and clean out. This requires periodic cleaning, according to your usage. Refer to your user manual.
