It is hard to say what the problem could be. A lot of boards on this unit can cause the same condition. Lets start out simple. Can you get the menu to pull up? If you can then check your connections at your inputs and at the components that you have hooked up to the TV. If you can't bring up the menu, then I would suggest having a servicer look at it. You could have a bad tuner causing this, a bad digital board, bad analog board or even a bad light engine. To many variables.
looks like a( DLP) tv digital light proccessor . aka projection. most likely the bulb is burned out . if so cost is $65-125 bucks. aftermarket bulbs are available online but some dont work or burn out prematurely. if you decide to fix it or buy a new tv ,invest in a surge protector. it will save your tv from problems like this . good luck.
The buzzing is the ballast arc gap, normal sound. When the tv starts does the lamp start to come on. Can you see any light from the back? Sounds like bad ballast. Unfortunatly this part is no longer available. the light engine will have to be removed and sent to Toshiba to be rebuilt.
my first question is have you checked the bulb. the loud pop sound like the bulb blew and the rattling sounds like the lamos trying to fire. remove the bulb cover and unscrew the bulb
i think its the fan that needs to be replaced. or it could be the bulb.
Try to open the bulb assembly unit and take out the bulb and put it back in. If you have an extra bulb, replace it and see if works. This worked for me. The bulb i bought wasnt compatible
I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
