You probably could if your TV supports external audio. Refer to ITs manual. It would be limited by the audio capabilities of the TV, most likely stereo.

on your cable box, check if you do have a digital audio out. if so, then you should opt for a digital optical audio cable and connect it to your cable box, and then to your htc-555. (At the back of your htc-555 you have a digital audio input.)

Hiya,
Try this procedure:
1) Unplug player from power socket (for 1min)
2) Connect plug to power socket
3) Using the remote, press POWER button to turn unit on.
4) Press DVD button to enter dvd-mode
5) Press the following remote buttons, in this sequence:
ENTER, 8, 4, 2, 6, 9, ENTER
If done correctly, your dvd should go into Standby mode.
6) Press POWER button to turn unit on.
