Check its speaker connections. Check the speaker using a dry cell. If it is found OK, check the sound settings. If you wish to get more details, check this link.

Subwoofer not working

There may be an internal fuse that's blown. I'd take it to a repair facility and have them check it. Could also have a bad connection inside. Good luck!

I have a Boston MCS130 surround sound system, have had for about 2 yrs. Was woken up during the night with the subwoofer making feedback noise. Had to turn off to keep from making noise. Have checked...

mine had the same problem until it completely quit. unplug the sub and turn it over, press gently on the speaker cone, does it move freely, or do you hear a sort of scrapping noise? if it moves freely with no noise, its a dif problem than mine. if you do hear the scrapping noise, then theres a short in the voice coil, from what ive read you have to replace the driver (actual speaker part), its basically blown

How do i connect my boston acoustics pv800 subwoofer to my Harmon Kardon AVR 520 reciever?

You need to use the LINE LEVEL connection on the pv800 (usually a rca type connector cable) and run this cable into the back of the HK 520 Subwoofer PRE-OUT connector, be sure the HK Receiver menu speaker set-up option is set to SUBWOOFER "YES"

Boston Acoustics VR960 Crackle

I just finished repairing one of my VR960 units with a similar problem. My problem was that the sub would crackle no matter what input level. After changing a few of the active components, I finally discovered it to be a capacitor which was faulty. Anyway, I replaced the three 100uf 25V capacitors on the main board and all was well.

Good Luck.

No subwoofer signal

your out put signal circut bord is shorted out. It happens when there is static feed back from output continuity to an electric overload inside the unit. Then when you have a shorted board then it will eventually go into a protect mode and nothing will work ...just the power light will turn red and blink.

Just a suggestion.....Get rid of it while it has a bad sub output signal. you can get some money out of it.
I can always use extra parts for the other denons I work on....call me if you want...630-742-6587
