Cancell all print jobs in the print que.. shut down computer disconnect USB or Network cabes to printer... turn printer off then back on wait till printer comes to READY then reconnect USB or Network cables ... turn computer back on and print again
1) With the printer On, make sure you have new cartridges installed ready to initialize. Replace as necessary. 2) Press and hold the <OK> and <Cancel> [or <X> if you do not have Cancel] buttons down at the same time and turn the printer off with the power button. 3) Keep holding the buttons down until the printer turns off. 4) While pressing the <OK> and <Cancel> buttons, turn the unit back on. It should cycle a bit then turn itself off again. 6) Press the <Power> button to turn the printer back On. 7) The printer will reinitialize the ink cartridges. Do not disturb this process. After completion (approx. 5 minutes), it should be ready to print.
There are two self tests you can try to test the printer. With only the black cartridge and on sheet of paper. Disconnect the printer from the computer and unplug it. Plug it back in and do the following: Press and hold the power button. At the same time, press and hold the Ready/Insert button. Release the power button, but keep holding the Ready/Insert button. After 4 seconds, release and press the button again and release. It should print a one page diagnostic test. The second self print test using all 4 cartridges. Turn the printer on, press and hold the Ready/Insert button for a few seconds and release the button. The test will use all 4 inks.
Try resetting the printer: Note: it will erase all network settings.
Turn the printer off, press and hold the GO button, turn the printer back on, continue holding the GO button for at least 10 seconds, but for fewer than 20 seconds. After the Go, Attention, and Ready LEDs turn on, release the GO button. During this process, the Attention LED will turn on, the LEDs will begin to cycle, and the unit will perform a cold reset until the printer returns to the Ready state.
NOTE: If either the Go or Ready light turn off or no LEDs turn off before the GO button is released, repeat the process.
For PCL XL error: try to reinstall the printer drivers.
Sounds like you may have one or more print jobs stuck in the queue.
First, turn the All-in-one printer off. Disconnect it from your computer and turn it back on. Verify that the printer will print by performing a self-test.
With the printer still disconnected, go to this URL and select the link for your operating system. This will give you the procedure for clearing the stuck jobs from the print queue.
10.00.03 - The printer cannot read or write to the yellow print cartridge memory tag.
Solution:
Turn the printer off and then back on again.
If error returns, remove all print cartridges and turn off the printer.
Cold reset the printer:
Turn on the printer.
Watch the control panel.
When the memory starts counting, press and hold the green (Select) button.
Continue holding the green check button until the Ready, Data, and Attention lights flash once, and then stay on steady.
Release the check button when the Ready, Data, and Attention light are on steady.
The control panel will display SELECT LANGUAGE.
Press (Down Arrow) button once. The control panel will display COLD RESET.
Press (Select). The printer will perform a cold reset and then continue its power-on sequence.
Wait for the printer prompt to install each print cartridge.
This should return the machine to operating condition. If you still get the error, replace the yellow print cartridge.
Dear sir;I believe you can try " cold reset", that's means going to clear all data from the printer memory and sets all the defaults back to the factory settings.performing a "cold reset" resets the jetDireect configuraion. to avoid making changes to yourconfiguration, remove the jetDirect card before performing a cold reset. if possible, print a configuration page prior to performing a cold reset. this will document current settings for later reference.
to perform a cold reset;
1, turn off the printer.
2, while pressing "go", turn the printer on. COLD RESET appears briefly on the display, then INITIALIZING appears.after a few seconds, RESTORING FACTORY SETTING appears on the display, followed by OFFLINE.the cold reset is complete.
3, press "go" to return the printer online "ready " appearson the display.
Little bit complicated but is easy ,hope can take care your problem, GOOD LUCK! Let me know the resolve please!
HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY !!!
I had the same problem after a resent power outage. Here's what fixed mine.
Turn the power switch off. Wait a 15-20 seconds While holding the button on the front panel down turn the power switch on. After the drum light comes on release the button wait then press the button again. Turn the machine off then back on again and you should be back in business.
To prevent the problem in the future if you are not using the printer turn it off and if the power goes off while printing get the printer turned off before the power comes back.
I did not get any error message but the 6940 printer would not print. Instead "Ready" the printer said "door open". When I deleted printer and plugged the usb cable back in the XP machine found the new hardware, said "Ready" and could print.
