Try unplugging it and plugging it back in, then see what happens.

SOURCE: Brand new Printer lights flashing

You should install driver first, then connect printer when prompted, then install inks, as it needs the driver to tell it there are full inks fitted, refer to the manual.

The cartridges are new HP cartridges. I unplugged the printer and plugged it back in. I cleaned the copper dots on the ink and on the printer. I took the ink out and put it back in correctly several times....

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.

Hi, My Canon MP210 printer is displaying E3 code. The colour light and alarm lights are illuminated constantly and black one is flashing. When opening the "lid", the cartridges do not align to...

I have workaround for the empty tank issue:
- buy or borrow another not empty tank
- place it in
- start the printer
- it recognises the "new" tank
- turn off the printer
- put back the old, empty, but refilled tank
- turn on the printer
- print something
- it will pop up a dialogue window saying
"The ink level of the black/color tank cannot be
determined. The ink level determining function will be
disabled for the black/color tank.
If you want to continue printing without this function
press the Start button on the printer."
- Press the Start button on the printer and ignore the
button 'Cancel Printing' appearing on the dialogue window.
- The dialog window disappears.

You can print your refilled tank as many times you want from this time.

When you go to 'Printers /Canon /Properties /Maintenance / Printer Status / Ink Information' it says that the ink level measuring function has been disabled for: black [40] / color[41]. You can ignore this this message, the printer will work perfectly without this stupid function.

Put ink cartridge in printer and now it won't print

You might have to do a MAINTENANCE on it. Start, Settings, Ptinters and Faxes, Rt click your printer, Properties and somewhere in there is Print Test Page or Clean Print Heads. Does this do anything?

You can also hold down one of the buttons on the printer while turning it on and force it to do non-stop test prints. Turn off to stop

WONT PRINT CALIBRATION PAGE

Take out the cartridges and turn off the printer. Turn it back on, and THEN put the ink cartridges in. After that, try to print the calibration page.

If this does not work, clean your printer using the cleaning maintenance from your HP printer software

Hp 3310 photosmart only prints in yellow

Hello,

On the left side of the print head carriage is a white plastic gear that drives the ink pump. Check it first to see if its firmly in place, has chipped or worn off teeth or looks damaged in some other way.

If this white gear driving the ink pump is damaged or looks odd let me know right away so we can address this issue.

Now, there is a trick for resetting your particular HP printer. This sounds and is convoluted but it will work. However, the system will think all your ink cartridges are full. If they are rather full okay. If they are near empty you will want to run this hack again as the ink nears low. You won't get a ink low warning correctly after this until you've installed new full tanks eventually.

Turn the printer on. At the same time, using your left hand, press the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons down and hold them down. While holding these down buttons use your other hand to turn the printer off, still holding the four buttons down with the left hand. Once the printer has powered down fully you can release the buttons. Now, the printer will initialize and then run a maintenance check. If you printer is otherwise okay, no damaged circuitry or gearing you will be fine. Turn the printer on. It will start up and shut itself off, this is expected. Once it is off again, turn it back on once more and this time the printer will run the maintenance routine. Have paper in the feed tray.

1.) Check left side of printer carriage for the white gear that drives the ink pump. Look to see if the gear is off, broken has worn or chipped teeth.
2.) Turn the Printer On.
3.) Hold down the OK, Cancel, Black, and Color buttons with your left hand and hold them down.
4.) Use your other hand to turn the printer off. Keep your left hand on the buttons until the printer is off.
5.) Turn the printer on, wait for it to turn itself off. Have paper in the feed tray.
6.) Turn it on again and it will enter the maintenance mode. Follow any prompts during the maintenance mode, if any.

You should be back in business now. If not, try the routine again, sometimes you have to run it more than once. Should it still fail, let me know as you may get an error message and error number.

Use the Comment Text Entry Box below to comment back with any other questions or point out failures in this hack.
