I hooked up the camera completely as the directions instructed me to. I had the power off to the TV and the camera until it was completely installed. Once I finished the install I turned the power on to the camera first and then turned on the television. I had the cables hooked up correctly (yellow was vid. in white was aud. in) The TV is a trutech with different categories to choose from, so I chose all the choices with no luck. The different categories are as follows 1 is TV 2nd is AV in 3rd is YUV in 4th is DVD and the last mode is PC in. The red light on the camera is working but I don't have any image from the camera on the television. Am I doing something wrong ?
I would say if you are getting no picture
Lets assume that the rca connection cables are not broken then that your tv is ntsc even is the signals were mixed you would get something therefore only thing left is that the resolution of the signals your camera must output i higher resolution or aspects ratio than your tv can accommodate checking the setting of the camera go to the lowest resolution
I assume you checked the input for the TV you were choosing. You would need to choose the AV input. David also suggested that if the camera is set yo PAL, then you could never get an image with NSTC TV. Some devices are PAL or NTSC only and others have options to broadcast one or the other. Both TV and camera need to be the same.
I would need more information on both TV and camera model numbers to determine if they are compatible with each other, AV should be the one but it would depend on the format of video like PAL or NSTC for example.
The cameras I have seen on Amazon are NTSC (US) type so if your TV is PAL type (UK) then they will not get along and its video signal will be of no interest to it.
