Gaggia Titantium says dregdrawer missing

The dregdrawer is connected to a button/switch inside the machine.
- Switch broken.
- dregdrawer wrongly placed.
- dregdrawer is broken. (projection which goes into te machine is broken)

un plug the machine

Be sure to check the float in your water tank. It looks like this: http://www.cerinicoffee.com/item.asp?PID=1318

If the float is not floating then you need to replace it.

When you go to empty the dredge drawer you must leave the machine on. When you remove the dredge drawer it will say dredge drawer missing. Leave it out at least 15 seconds so the machine knows you are empting it. When you insert it again the machine will count about 24 cycles and tell you to empty it again. Its a counter.

Either your tab is broken on the back of your dredge drawer or your microswitch has been moved from its correct position. There should be a tab on the back of the dredge drawer. If not you need a new dredge drawer.

Remove the filter holder and brew some water into a small plastic cup and check temp, it could be the thermostat for the coffee temp is damaged.

I read somewhere that there is a counter in the machine that when a certain amount of shots are done, the counter will reach its limit and tell you to empty the drawer, even if it's not full.

When I get the message I open the door, remove the drawer and it goes away once you replace it. Don't know why the machine would stop working though?

Chenk the back of the area for the drawer, there might be some grounds preventing the draw from going all the way in to tell the microswitch that it is in place.

Run about an ounce of hot water from the wand.

the thing that dropped out was part of the micro switch for the dregs draw. Yes you can use the machine with the piece that you put in there, at some time you might consider just replacing the micro switch.
