My machine washes the clothes but will not spin or rinse clothing, I get a slight buzz sound when the cycle reaches the spin point
The wigwag switch may need to be serviced.
have someone come look at it and watch what they do taking it apart...
when they have it apart and tell you what is wrong... and what they are going to charge to fix it, if the repair is more than $50 tell them you will just fix it yourself.(the part is $23 at the local applience parts center)
SOURCE: My washer does not wash the clothes or go through the spin cycle.
It sound like a belt problem. Try to move tub manually first, in case it move smoothly -open the front panel, the belt should be between the motor and the drive pulley (lower front). In case it torn or not in its place, you should replace it. In case it doesn't move smoothly - maybe that a sock or other piece of clothing get between the clothes tub and the outer tub and prevent tub's spining. If this is the situation, it should be removed. Good luck !!
SOURCE: washer not spinning the clothes completely
For the the initial filling of the tub, the pump is not involved. The rinse cycle is also done with fresh water supplied by the inlet valve, although the water pump may be running simultaneously to remove the water while it is being added. Try removing front (or top) cover and find the water pump. It will have connecting hoses clamped to it. Check the hoses for blockages first. Then check the pump for any objects inside or broken impeller blades. If impeller is broken, replace it only if possible --- if not, you'll need to purchase a new pump. Hope this helped.
SOURCE: washer wil not spin or drain out after cycle completed
sounds like drain is plugged. this is a fairly easy fix,and you actually get paid to do it. unscrew the bottom panel of your washer should be 3 screws on the very bottom then you will see a white plug that is about 2 1/2" unscrew it (make sure you have a bowl under it water will leak ) and pull it out. this is where you get paid you will find all kinds of change and junk just clean it out reinstall and your clothes will be a lot drier after the spin cycle
SOURCE: GE profile washing machine won't agitate it spins out, drains,
Pull the agitator out and check the drive collar splines. If you have the model I think you have just pull straight up on the agitator. Once removed you will see the drive collar with a 7/16 head bolt, remove it and pull off the collar.First before pulling it off spin it if splines are stripped it will spin freely.
I think I have the same type of washing machine as you do. Wash is when all the clothes get agitated or mixed with soap and water (ever look in there when its washing? the water can get pretty gross looking!) So in my washer, the rinse cycle is when all that gross water is drained, and the washer spins while spraying clean water over the clothes to get rid of the dirty water and soap. I think mine does this 5 or 6 times in the cycle. Next is the spin cycle, which is when the washer spins REALLY fast to **** as much water out of the clothes as possible, so that the clothes aren't sopping wet when you put them in the dryer.
It sounds like your mom has a newer washing machine, probably a front load one, and they do seem to keep using clean water, instead of just agitating the clothes in dirty water.

Maybe the water pump is clogged up and needs cleaning.
