I have a Mitsubishi WS-55511. While watching it, the screen went black for 10 sec. and then came back.. no big deal but now the remote wont work on the tv only! It works for everything else and I can still turn on and off the tv at the unit itself... like it lost the code between the remote and tv only... any suggestions?
Try unpluging unit for 1 hour
1) when you plug unit back in to ac power..
if green led on front of set is flashing rapidally..
wait for a few minutes till led stops flashing
**on board micro computer has to boot up and run..set may not work correctly**
2) try switching to another input
from your discription could be that tuner
went dead..ants and raspie sound like no
antenna or cable is hooked to set
3) do you have cust menus
if so..try another video source on other video
inputs..like a vcr,,dvd..
also..if tuner is dead..and you use a cable box..
cable box has video and audio outputs..hook to video inputs
if this works..
then you just use set like a big monitor..with cable box..
if you don't use cable..sub vcr for tuning channels on antenna for cable
4)....if this does not work seek professional help tv shop

Ok. I unplugged it but now it also went crazy last night since I posted my original question. It started going to a fuzz screen like thousands of black ants and the loud shhhhhhhhhh sound..... It would be fine 5 sec, then ants for 3, fine for 5... then ants for 2... that went on for 5 minutes and then went completely to the ants on all channels..... shhhhhhhhhhhh..... I like my TV and cant afford an upgrade right now but I was kinda looking for a reason to spend what we dont have... kid on the way... I'll fix it if I can but I have to ask, are the new flat screens limited life-span? Anyway, I have heard alot about glass tubes.. is that something I can fix myself?
