Hello,

Are you sure that you have installed the correct driver? Try going to the website of your computer's manufacturer and get the driver from there.

Have you tried resetting the BIOS defaults? In doing so, it will force IDE re-detection and often resolve vague boot issues.

SOURCE: Dell Latitude d620 lights but no boot

Your D620 probably has the Nvidia Graphics (Video) card that was a manufacturing defect well documented all over the internet. I have reflowed the video card on quite a few of these laptops.

Below are some excerpts from the user manual.

Solid green power light and no beep code and no video during POST The monitor or the graphics card may be faulty or incorrectly installed.
Check the diagnostic lights to see if the specific problem is identified. See "Video and Monitor Problems."

Plustek Optipro 9636T - working under Windows 7.

If you scanner only has Win XP drivers, then you have only two choices as those drivers wont work on WIN 7. One is to buy a new scanner, as you have already suggested. The other is to create a virtual machine, load WIN XP onto it, and then install the scanner drivers on the virtual machine. This should work fine as I do it for a piece of software that only works on WIN XP, however it is a bit of a inconvenience to use.

New driver will not install

I've had this problem several times with Windows 7. Google a piece of software called CCleaner, download, install and run it. It removes registry problems, bad installs and other extraneous fluff, speeding up your machine, preventing malware attacks and making fresh installs easier. That should clear out the gunk files that are stopping the new drivers from installing. (Between running CCleaner and installing the new drivers, though, I strongly recommend restarting.)

PLEASE HELP!!! Sharp AR-BC320 printer! We purchased this printer and do not have the installation cd that came with it :( Can anyone please please please help?!

If you manage to locate an Sharp AR-BC320 printer driver CD it may not have a Vista driver but it definitely would not have a Wndows 7 version and Sharp would not create one for this old printer.

I have found a lot of people are having problems with printer drivers for old printers with Windows Vista and Windows 7.
I suggest you purchase a new printer that support Vista and Windows 7.

I think you're best option is to look for software that is compatible with your MiniDV camcorder. It seems Cyberlink was the original install software, so I would try finding or buying Cyberlink to see if it will work for your camcorder on a Win7 machine. If the link doesn't work, you might have to cut and paste twice.

Problem on the device driver/ motherboard

Boot under XP, go to Dell's website and download the XP driver for your laptop noting where it is saved. Don't install it, copy it to a thumb drive or a CD. Reboot into Windows 7 and then install the XP driver. You'll get a message that it isn't the correct one but choose install anyway. That chip doesn't fully support AERO in Win 7 but will do most everything you will need. If you want to disable the pointing stick on the keyboard, download the XP Dell trackpad software. That lets you go in and deactivate the pointing stick. I find it annoying.

Lan setting went off after formating my pc

Try restarting your computer several times if the new OS you installed is XP. However, if your new OS is Windows 7, there is still no problem. If you have not yet installed a windows 7 drivers cd,you will need to get the driver cd for windows 7, and I'm sure there are other things you've not noticed. Otherwise, if your drivers have been correctly installed, just restart your system; the lan driver will automatically install on system start up.If it doesn't install, you should get the lan drivers, depending on your product. Finally, I have both HP and DELL drivers, but I don't have a site yet. Hope the above information helped.
