Webcam driver My HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop was formatted & there was no driver for the inbuilt webcam. My previous driver was Quickplay. Could I get a driver to install on my laptop. My laptop is running on Windows vista 64bit.

On the My Computer properties window, click on the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
Click on the plus ( +) sign next to Imaging Devices and locate the webcam item in the device list.
If the webcam is not listed, do the following activities to install the driver using the webcam driver recovery.
Click Start, click All Programs, click PC Help & Tools, and then click HP Application Recovery.
Select Driver installation and click Next.
Select the HP Webcam 1000 driver from the list, and click Install.
If the webcam is listed under Imaging Devices but there is a red X on the icon, the webcam is disabled. See figure below.

my cam is built in but is under usb and listed as imaging device

You missing Quickplay software. Go to Hp Site and enter your product number. From driver section download quickplay and it will work fine. It will give U icon on desktop too.

I think you've problem of wrong driver or not good driver for your sound.Best is uninstall and restart your computer and it should auto install by itself back again.For your quickPlay you also need a driver for it make sure you install the driver.
