Pc won't start

Think your power supply died. Check that out first since they are relatively inexpensive. Or throw in a known working PS to see if that does the trick. Write back with results for further info.

It makes noise then the tower cuts off but the power still blinks alot..the model number is T6532...it has been this way for a week. It just shuts everything down. The yellow light blinks alot.

Hello
Possible bad power supply,or step down transformer. If the noise your talking about is a beep or a series of beeps then this is called a beep code or codes.

Refer to the manufacturer for reasons for beeps.

Try Hard reset remove all the peripherial and power supply connected to the Computer Tower No Mouse, No Keyboard, No Ethernet cable and usb device should connected to the Tower and then press and hold down the power button for 30seconds and then connect only mouse keyboard and power supply to the Tower it should resolve the issue if it will not than set up bench repair this is Hardware issue.

I put this tower in the corner for a few months, board lights up but no video (on board) when turning on, no signal message on monitor ,tried a pci video card and still nothing Worked fine prior to...

Disconnect all devices from the power supply EXCEPT the motherboard
Remove any extra cards including video etc.(plug monitor into the onboard)

If you hear any beeps these can indictate where the fault is.
either of these sites below will help you further with that

Beep codes Pc

More beep codes

Power up the pc and see if the fans are working.
If not then double check the power connections to the board.

If you still have no fans it is time to suspect the power supply as the probable cause.

If the fans worked then you should have gotten a display which told you there was an error and offering you a chance to go into the BIOS. ignore it and shut down the PC.

Now connect one drive only and boot again.

Repeat that until you identify the component that is giving you a problem.

Once you find the problem then remove or disconnect and carry on with the rest to see if another component might also cause a problem

If there is only one problem device then you may want to investigate that device further, Unless you don't mind replacing it

Dell tower desktop Dimension 5100. Tower makes whistling sound.

sounds like it could be a bearing in your hard drive. is this problem constant? If so, I would open up the tower and disconnect the hard drive and then power up the tower again. if the sound goes away--you need to get a new hard drive. If not, you could have some dust bunnies in your cooling fan.

Tower wont stay running

Are there any beeps?
Could be the power supply going, motherboard, memory or CPU.
Check that all of the cards are seated correctly and tight.

Beeps usually indicate something is not plugged in or a program is not running properly for 'whatever' reason...r there any errors on your screen? If not, does it continue to beep after window icons have loaded? If so, try typing ctrl/alt/delete (at same time) to see if an apllication continues to run b4 it shuts down... If so, note that program application file, as you may need to delete that program and reload it to solve your 'beep'. Had a similar problem with my Canon fax/scanner/printer...Hope this helps.....DayGirl48
