SOURCE: Windows XP will not boot

That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows is missing - its most critical, core files have been corrupted beyond repair. The only thing you can do is to reinstall using the recovery cd or your own Windows install disk and an external cd unit.

Cursor won't move

If your iPad otherwise works normally (i.e. the touchscreen is fine), this was probably an input problem. I've found that my fingers don't work well on touchscreen devices if they're cold, or if my skin is dry. That usually means I tap or swipe things and it either doesn't happen, or doesn't quite work right because it couldn't track my finger properly.
Another thing to be careful of is that you purely tap the screen, and don't let your finger 'wander' on the glass before you lift it away. The iPad is very sensitive about skin moving on the surface, and if you're not very deliberate, it'll treat a clumsy tap as a 'slight swipe' - and swiping doesn't bring up the keyboard/cursor, so it appears not to work.

Logitech m 705 mouse pointer flickering

Click the Windows "Start" button or press the "Windows" key. The "Start" menu opens.

Type "Cursor blink" in the "Search programs and file" text box.

A list opens.

Click "Change Cursor Blink Rate." The "Keyboard Properties" window opens.

Click the "Speed" tab. A list of options appears.

The "Cursor Blink Rate" section shows a "Cursor Blink Rate" slider displaying a range from "None" to "Fast."

Click and drag the slider button to the "None" area in the far left portion of the "Cursor Blink Rate" scale.

Click "Apply."

Click "OK." The cursor stops flickering on the screen.

hope this helps

I would suggest you to check the touchpad app in control panel. I guess your have synaptic drivers installed see if you can adjust few settings to suit your touch sensitivity.

Will not boot...only blank screen with blinking cursor. how do I fix it

You have hard drive issues or windows files are corrupted, remove hardware and reseat it back in place, sometimes this will get the hard drive working, if this fails! set the boot order to DVD CD and try and run the recovery disc, if no change! it means the hard drive has issues and may have to be replaced.

My Toshiba Satellite L45-S7423 PC Notebook will not star it brings me to a screen with an underscore key blinking.how do i get it started?

Hi King,

I see that you are having issue with your Toshiba and as you mentioned that you are seeing a black screen with a blinking cursor and I believe that it is on the upper left side of the screen.

Having this blinking cursor means that the machine is not booting into the Hard drive, we will check several things on your laptop to find out what is causing this on you laptop.

  • First as soon as you power your Laptop ON keep on tapping f12 to get to the boot menu, once you see the boot menu screen it will show you a list the first one should be you Hard drive it should say SATA so on ans so fort click on it then press enter this should boot into your Hard Drive but it still you get the blinking cursor then we will need to check the BIOS.
  • To get into the BIOS from shut down as soon as you power the system on keep on tapping F1 this will show you a Blue screen it may say Phoenix BIOS on the upper left side or center or may be different,
  • Once in the BIOS screen there will be tabs on top of the screen for options, look for boot check the Boot sequence and change the first boot priority to the Hard drive.
  • But doing both the instructions above will only work if the Hard drive is detected, by doing F12 for the Boot menu if the Hard drive is not on the list then the Hard Drive will most likely not be in the BIOS as well and this means that th Hard Drive on your system may need replacing.
I believe that this is a far as we can go since there is no other option to do regarding this concern, unless you would know how to open up you Laptop from beneath and re-seat it from it connection, re-seat meaning remove and reconnect.

Have a nice day I hope that I was able to provide details that can help .
