Hey I was told by a friend that my 42" MX-42X3 Maxent, the reason for Flicker problem first start up was the it had a Y Buffer lower board problem, what do you think? Seems like a common problem with this. I was also told 1 reason not enough cooling fans, or non, LOL. It only last for 25 seconds max and after is great picture and all.
Thanks Howard Leadley
PS. one other Q, have a 61 inch Samsung put bulb in and found out color wheel had went out, took my time and actually was farely easy. One thing once up and running, if you go to Menu that is clear looking, but main picture is not all that clear, almost like signal going to back or TV from Coaxel is not being prosesed, Idea???
Thanks
I have the same problem but it lasts for about 2 hours on power up. Also my DVD player flickers the screen all the timeI have the same problem but it lasts for about 2 hours on power up. Also my DVD player flickers the screen all the time

If it flickers on start up it will only get worse. Mine got were it took over 3 hours to settle down, and never would stop flickering with DVD'S. Solution for mine: Replace bad capaciator on input circuit board, I found it by using a heat gun to speed up coming on process, Cost me 62 cents to replace the capaciator my self.
Ok fellow Maxent problem guys, I also under stand that other manufactures models have same problem. This is a power board problem the problem is not the power board, but the unit that searches for signal and there lies your problem. I understand that a lot of these are out there good luck since Maxent is no longer and they where in my area when around. Panasonic I think uses same board so if power board replaced it should be taken care of.
I have a maxent mx42x3. It has power to the tv but screen flickered abunch of colors and now is completely black. Led light shows power on front of tv. what is the solution and fix to this problem. Thank-you

MY 58 INCH MAXENT PLASMA FLICKERS MORE SO WHEN THE PICTURE IS LIGHT IN COLOR. wHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND HOW CAN I FIX IT? SOLUTION: Make sure your aspect ratio is set on all units are set correctly. Cable box aspect ratio = 16x9 My was set to output resolution on my was set to 780p These are not Progressive scan TV and will not support 780p or 1080p Changing it to 1080i fixed the issue.
My Maxent 58" was also flickering when the picture was light or white. I pulled the back off and cleaned all of the dust out of the cooling fans and heatsinks and the problem whent away. I looked for bad capacitors but I could not find any.My Maxent 58" was also flickering when the picture was light or white. The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
CCFL Bulbs or power supply board it may need, best not to hang TV because they can overheat and then there's problems, mine did the same Maxent must be know for that, seems like that's a big problem with this model.
I had the same problem with my 50 inch Maxent, found a solution on the internet that seemed too good to be true, but I replaced a part that cost me $1.38 at Radio Shack and my tv is as good as new. Go to this link for details and even includes pictures. All you need is a scredriver (to remove back cover) and a soldering iron - repair is actually very easy. Good Luck!
Are you sure that its the main A/Vboard coz it sounds like the main power supply issue to me. Anyways the mainboard is the large board usually located at the center of the tv. If you can remove the back cover of the tv and get me a high res picture of the tv I can mark the board for you.
This problem is caused by a faulty powersupply/standby board. I have seen this happen way too often on plasmas for the power supply is the most hard working part in a plasma. A component level repair might be possible but it depends on your prior experience in electronics. If you have never worked on a tv before I strongly suggest that you seek professional assistance to get it fixed as it holds dangerous amounts of voltages for several days after its turned off and unplugged from the power supply. As my guru always says "Your life and limb is worth much more than this". You can use our repair directory to search for techs in your area. http://www.fixya.com/repair

What is the Product Name or Model number of your Maxent 42" Plasma TV? If it is a MX-42X3, Model # P420542HM8, I think I can help you. I have encountered this exact same problem with 2 Maxent MX-42X3 Plasma
TV's. I found that C766, a 220uF, 16V surface-mount electrolytic
capacitor on the main board is bad. This capacitor is located just to
the left of the green multi-fin processor heat sink. This capacitor
will test good using capacitor meter or an ESR meter, but if you spray
it with Freeze-It with the power on, you will find out that this is the
problem! To get it out, I found I had to remove the little 10uF 16V
surface-mount capacitor just to the left of it. I then replaced these 2
capacitors with regular (radial), high-temperature, low-ESR capacitors.
I cut the leads short, and bent the ends out just a little bit so you
can solder them back onto the surface-mount pads. You can get these
parts from Digi-Key Corp. I used Digi-Key part # P12383-ND ($0.32) for
the 220uF capacitor, and P11212-ND ($0.30) for the 10uF capacitor. Both
of these capacitors are rated for 25V and high temperature, so they
won't go bad again. You can purchase surface mount capacitors there
too, but I find them very difficult to solder back into those locations
due to the tight placement of other capacitors in that area. If you're not an expert in soldering, I suggest you take the main board to a qualified electronic technician, and let him do it. But you better put the board in an anti-static bag before you take it anywhere! Hope this helps!
