Samsung LCD tv - Turns on and off by itself.

Just bought a Samsung LCD tv, 32" 2 days ago and it worked fine yesterday but today it keeps turning on and off by itself but even when it turns on, no picture comes up. Tried resetting it (unplugging and disconnecting cables, etc). Nothing seems to be working. The bleeping it makes when turning on and off is driving us mad. I have the same problem with an LN46a850. Audio, etc. seems unaffected, but the screen will blank out after a period of time. When it blanks out, it seems there is some back light still on. It is like there is no input, not powered down. You can change the channel or go to another input and hear the audio. Sometimes the picture will reappear on its own. Often not. Then you have to power down. Then power up again and the picture is back fine until the next episode. Just bought the set on Amazon Warehouse deals, listed as minor blemish on housing. It seems the real undisclosed problem is a faulty main board.

Since you have another TV with the same problem you can try using an antenna(indoor model ok) to see if the cable is causing the problem. If not return TV before the warranty expires.

I have a 32" RCA LCD tv , rlc3210 power input says

Is it hooked up with HDMI cable?

If so try unplugging the HDMI cable and re plugging the cable in, sometimes those cables work loose and if they are not tight, it will cause your screen to flicker. Happens to my TV once in awhile.

My Panasonic Model: THL32U20A will not respond. You can turn it on manually (not by remote) and once turned on, nothing works, IE: remote doesnt do anything and you cant even change channels or volume etc...

I too have exactly the same fault. The Tv even turns itself on in the middle of the night, i have to unpug it from the wall. It has been in for repair 3 times now, one guy said there is nothing wrong with it. I am keen to hear if anyone has had this fault resolved.
Thanks

My 52" flat panal Samsung LCD keeps turning on and off by itself

that is the worst news you can receive from the manufacturer they pretty much shun you after the warranty has expired its very disconcerting and unfair to consumers I would make sure when you talk to them that the work that was done should have been under some warranty and if it was not the place the blame entirely on the technician who came in and tell them it was at least working to some extent cough cough before they sent someone who broke it even more if after this they dont comply boycot the brand and look for a new or gently used tv

Im terribly sorry to hear about this

Howdy,
It sounds like you have a Power Supply Board problem. The PSB is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.

Thanks for using FIXYA, big IRISH.

Westinghouse 32 in LCD TV

I have had this problem now for about six months with my Niko OPT-3211W. After replacing the Inverter card, VIT70002.00 as suggested nothing changed. I then read that it may be a couple of capacitors in the power supply, but I do not have the skills needed to replace them, nor do I want to pay to fix it. The solution is simple... turn on the TV and wait two to five minutes, then turn off the main power. I suggest using a power strip. Then turn the power back on in two to five seconds. The TV will come back on and it works great from then on. I thought that it was a freak thing, but it keeps working.
