I bought a freeze at the same time and they are both located in the garge, but the freezer is working satisfactory

  • bakerbg Mar 04, 2009

why will a freezer keep ice cream frozen , but a top freezer will not keep ice cream frozen when both units are located in a space that the temperature is less than 60 degrees F

  • Ken Bledsoe May 11, 2010

Can you see if the unit is building up ice on the coils? They are located behind the rear panel in the freezer. Make have to take off the back panel to get a good look. Also lets eliminate the fan in the freezer is it working? And you might have a fan down by the compressor is it working. Are your condenser coils below and are they clean?

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezerice will not stay frozen in the freezer - 2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Freezer is no longer keeping ice cream solid/frozen

Ice cream is usually kept at -10 degrees to stay firm. Need to check temperature. Look at condenser coil for cleaning. This is usually the most simple and common issue. If not making the desired temp, and the temperature control is set for that temp, and compressor run constant, it is a refrigeration issue. If compressor does not run constant, then a control issue.

Ice Cream won't stay frozen it get's all soft and gross. Main things in the freezer stay frozen.

This is an easy one!!
Ice cream needs to be around -5 degrees to +5 degrees to stay frozen (or hard) if the freezer is at like 15 degrees the ice cream will be soft but the rest of the things like meat and ice cubes will be rock solid because anything lower than 32 degrees is freezing for those things. So you might wanna check to see if the fan motor is working and also make sure the condensor coil is free of debris.

Bottom freezer not keeping ice cream frozen

Check out freezer temp - should be around zero degrees. Fact that ice maker is still working would indicate that the temps are at least about 10 degrees. If the door seals are tight and the self defrosting mechanism is working properly, the unit may be low on refrigerant. I had similar situation where stuff was frozen but my ice cream was mushy even though unit was running 24 hours a day.

Freezer not freezing

not freezing icedraem is an issue, bread not so much, different breads contain different ingrediants that may or may not freeze, forst offthough wher is unit located??? in garage??? if so be aware that it may not operate efficiently ion ambient temps lower then 55 degrees, but if this is in your kitchen i would suspect a "refrigeration"/sealed system issue, perhaps "low on charge and not able to maintain a frozen set temp. Meat may stay frozen ( for a little while anyway, but the ice cream is the first to show indications of problem

I have the automatic frozen yogurt-ice cream & sorbet maker ICE-20 series made bby CUISINART. The first few times the icecream came out perfect & great. I made ice cream yesterday and it was soupy. I put...

I would actually let the freezer bowl thaw out on a level surface. Then place perfectly level back in the freezer for 24 hours. Should work again. Enjoy!

Freezer not freezing

Check to see if the fan motor in the freezer is running. Most likely it is not circulating the cold air Also make sure the defrost drain line is clear and has drained out. A frozen sheet of ice will restrict airflow also

Deni Ice Cream Maker Manual

I don't have a flatbed scanner to scan it, but here are the operating instructions (at least for the 5201).
1. Place canister in freezer for 8 hours (must be frozen solid-so that you can't hear liquid in canister sloshing around)
2. Prepare your ingredients ahead, and chill them for best results.
3. Take canister out of freezer and place on motor base. Use canister immediately after removing from freezer, as it will begin to thaw once placed at room temp.
4. Place the paddle inside container. Be sure the tould side of the paddle faces up.
5. Lock the lid (the clear plastic piece that fits over the container)onto motor base. The tabs on the bottom of the lid should line up with the indentations in the motor base. This ensures that the lid is locked in place. When fitting the lid onto the base, the stir paddle should "fit" into the lid.
6. Turn the On/Off dial to the right (on position).IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU TURN THE UNIT ON BEFORE POURING IN THE MIXTURE. THE CANISTER ROTATES WHILE THE STIR PADDLE REMAINS STATIONARY.
7. Slowly pour the mixture in the top opening of the lid. It is at this time that you place the top on the clear-vue lid and leave the machine on for about 5-30 minutes (time varies, depending on the coldness of ingredients and canister, and desired consitency) If making ice cream, your result should be a soft, custard-like ice cream
8. When the frozen dessert is ready, make sure the unit is off. Remove the lid and the mixture from the bowl with a plastic spoon or scoop. NEVER USE METAL INSTRUMENTS IN THE CANISTER.
9. Ice cream will be custard-like. If you prefer hard ice cream, place in freezer in air tight container and allow to set until it reaches your desired hardness. Don't put the ice cream in the canister in your freezer for more than 30 minutes, as the ice cream will freeze solid to the container and possibly damage it.

Hope this helps... If you need something else, let me know. I will try to check back soon.

not being able to keep ice cream is not good, before doing anything ck a few things. make sur e to pull out unit and vaccuum under and behind unit, if it cant breath it cant freeze. check in back by compressor, is the fan running to cool the fan??? if the compressor is on so should the fan be. next id look behind the freezer wall for excessive build up of frost( it might even be buildin up with ice throughthte back wall, inwhich case you have a defrost issue

Freezer bowl not frozen!

Preparing the Freezer Bowl:
The freezer bowl must be completely frozen before you begin your recipe. The length of time needed to reach the frozen state depends on how cold your freezer is – for best results, place the bowl to the rear of your freezer where it is coldest. In general, freezing time is between 6 hours and 22 hours. To determine whether the bowl is completely frozen, shake it. If you do not hear liquid moving, the cooling liquid is frozen. For the most convenience, leave your freezer bowl in the freezer at all times so you can take it out any time for immediate use.

Features and Benefits:
  • Freezer Bowl – The double insulated freezer bowl contains a cooling liquid between the bowl walls to create fast and even freezing. In general, the required freezing time of the bowl is 6 to 22 hours before use. Additional freezer bowls are available separately for making double batches or different flavors without interruption. For additional information on preparing the freezer bowl for use, please see below.
  • Base and Motor Unit – The base contains a heavy-duty motor that is strong enough to handle everything from thick, rich ice creams to smooth frozen yogurts to slushy frozen drinks . The base unit features a generously sized on/off switch, rubber feet to prevent slipping and keep the unit stationary while in use as well as cord storage to keep counters neat and safe when the unit is not is use.
  • Lid with Ingredient Spout – The easy-lock, transparent lid secures to the base with a simple turn, allowing you to watch the freezing process as it progresses. An ingredient spout at the top of the lid is generously sized for pouring in ingredients and ideal for adding nuts, fresh fruit, candy pieces and more without interruption the freezing cycle.
  • Mixing Arm – The mixing arm mixes and aerates your frozen desserts and drinks, incorporating and blending all ingredients thoroughly.
  • Instruction/Recipe Book - The included instruction and recipe booklet helps you get started with over 30 recipes and variations for ice creams, sherbets, sorbets, frozen yogurts and frozen drinks.
