go to the settings and in regional settings. make sure you are in English(Australia).

then go to the time settings and make sure your time zone is set for brisbane.

A good HD antenna and proper orientation should do a lot of help. In the USA, a website guide HDTV owners to properly identity a suitable antenna and orientation. Check out:

A similar website may be available in Australia.
If not, what you would want to do is to point the HD antenna to your source of Free To Air (FTA) broadcast.
