SOURCE: can not locate and download 64 bit version of HP 2840 laserjet printer driver

What a bunch of nonsense. HP obviously wants us to purchase the newer model of their laserjet, which I did. I was completely unsatisfied with it, so went back to the task of compatibility between my Windows Vista 64-bit system and my tried and true 2840.
Windows has a "Virtual PC" that you can download free. It requires Windows Vista Ultimate, so upgrading was step 1.
Step 2: Download the free Virtual PC 2007 and install it on your 64-bit system: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/virtualpc/default.mspx
Now that you have your virtual PC (like a mini computer inside your computer) you need to install an operating system. I bought Windows Vista Business version (32 bit) because I found it inexpensively, but you can install whatever 32-bit system that is compatible with the 2840 software. So now you've created a 32-bit virtual system within your 64-bit system.
Now just install the 2840 software into the 32-bit virtual system and you're good to go. All this cost under $300.

The best place to find drivers for any device is always from the manufacturer's website for the product or hardware device you have. Click here for HP's driver and support website. Another good place to find drivers is drivers.com. You might also want to check out this site for a free driver scan tool here. When i ordered a job ( printing) from my PC, which is directly connected through USB port, the printer waits more than 2 hrs to print. It is very annoying to wait that much time for printing.
That is rather a long time to wait for a print out, I agree.

See my guide entitled How to Install the latest drivers for Hewlett Packard Printer!!!
Installing the latest drivers may solve this problem.

Also try the following:
1.) Navigate to the Windows control panel and double click Printers and Faxes.
2.) Right click your printer and select properties.
3.) Click the advanced tab and set the following:
4.) Starting from the top "Select Always available."
5.) Priority set to 1
6.) Select "Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster."
7.) Select "Start printing immediately."
8.) Select/tick "Enable Advanced printing features."

Now click Apply and then click Ok.

Drivers and software for HP 1020 can be downloaded from HP official site. Choose you operating system and download the required files
Select 32-Bit or 64-Bit depending upon the version you have.

To resolve this issue perform the following:
  1. Click the Browse button on the error message.
  2. Browse through the CD to Drivers -> windows 2000_XP .
  3. Select the file hppcp504.cab , and click OK .
  4. The error message "The Software that you are trying to install has not passed the windows Logo Test " appears. Click Continue Anyway .
  5. If the error message "hpc20155.xml on HP LaserJet P2015 Series CD is needed " appears again, follow steps 1-3.
  6. The required files are copied, and the driver is installed and ready to use.
If the issue still persists then perform the following in the order listed before trying to reinstall the software.
  1. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Windows Update.
  2. Set the option to Never search Windows Update for drivers .
NOTE: It is important to re-enable the Windows Update function after installing the printer software, otherwise the updates for all the other software on this computer will be blocked. After disabling Windows Update, complete the following steps. Be sure to reenable Windows update after installing the software:
  1. Disconnect the USB cable and remove the device listing from Device Manager
  2. Go to Start ->All programs ->HP ->P2015 ->Uninstall , "OR" Go to Add & Remove and check for the P2015 and uninstall .
  3. Then go to Printer & Faxes . Select the HP LJ P2015 icon and press the Delete button on the keyboard. After deleting the printer icon, go to File and Server properties . Go to Drivers tab and remove any P2015 drivers if listed.
  4. Also delete the following files/ folders C:\program files\HP\toolbox Fx or P2015 C:\documents & settings\app data\tool box Fx
  5. Run the scrubber.exe . Find this on the cd X:\utils\ccc\scrubber.exe & scrubber.ini NOTE: The Scrubber utility can also be downloaded from the web if the original installation CD is not available. However, it is only available as part of the full software installation package named hp_LJ_P2015_Full_Solution_AMWE.exe on hp.com . Once the files are extracted to a folder just open the util folder then the ccc folder and the scrubber.exe file will be visible.
  6. Paste these files at the following path and run the scrubber.exe C:\windows\system32\
  7. Empty the recycle bin
  8. Turn the printer back on.
  9. Now install the printer software again. Connect the communication cable to the PC and printer when prompted during the installation.

I've hp laserjet P2015 which is brand new. My os is windows 7 but the driver which came with it is for Windows Mac. The usb port won't detect it & the printer is not working
here is where you can download the printer, be sure to download 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7 also do not have the printer plugged in to the computer untill you install the software then when it asks for the printer then plugh it in to finish install, notice there are 6 printers with letters on one side of them A,B, C, D,E, andf. be sure you havethe right model number with the correct letter. here is the web page to download from.

I cant find hpc20155.xml
This is direct from the HP website. some files were renamed... it works!
ISSUE: During the LaserJet P2015 Series USB installation, the following error message is displayed: 'hpc20155.xml' on HP LaserJet P2015 Series CD is needed SOLUTION: The HP LaserJet P2015 EWS driver on Microsoft Windows Update and Windows Market Place Web sites is newer than the driver that is included on the product CD that shipped with the printer. Because of this. the Microsoft Windows (Found New Hardware Wizard) will install the driver from the web. Some file names are inconsistent between driver version 1.0.0.12 and version 1.0.0.10, including the hpc20155.xml file, hence the attempt for the driver to search for the hpc20155.xml file will fail, and prompts the error message. To resolve this issue perform the following:
  1. Click the Browse button on the error message.
  2. Browse through the CD to Drivers -> windows 2000_XP .
  3. Select the file hppcp504.cab , and click OK .
