Try turning off the laptop, unplugging it, pulling out the battery and holding power down for 30-60 seconds. After that's done, put the battery back in, plug it back in, and turn it on.
Make sure all the ends on your battery cables are clean and tight. I got a tow in because my car would not try to start even tried boosting to no avail. All my lights and radio was working but they said the cable was corroded and would not let the full power work. We replaced the battery cables and worked like new now.
this could be a problem in the power distribution box under the bonnet like a corroded cable or the vibration has broken it ,disconnect the battery and put it on charge overnight and see what happens in case the battery is just flat ,if still nothing after charging try a jump start in case it is the batery died as they can go all of a sudden .
These cars where notorious for the antitheft system failing, when this happens it will turn off the starter to prevent theft. You would see a light on the dash that says SECURITY if this is the case. Here is a link with 2 different ways to fix this system.
The screen off light is stuck on on my Bush TV/Video/DVD combi BTV185DVD. I have tried to turn it to standby but then it just goes back to "Screen off" and nothing happens to the screen. Please help.
It is possible that you have a partial connection to the battery, enough to get lights to function but not enough to crank the engine. I had the same problem with my cherokee. Try tightening all connections to the battery. If not it may be your starter solenoid. Let me know if you need anything else or if this works.
