JVC LCD TV (LT-42X688) input panel not working!

I have a JVC LCD TV (model LT-42X688)and the rear input panel is no longer working!
I am able to watch TV through my digital cable box using HDMI cable, however I have no sound through the TV speakers. I am using my stereo speakers for sound.
No DVD, no Wii, nothing through analog - HELP!
Has anyone else had this issue? I am not a "tech genius", but like to think I'm ok.
The TV is 6 months past the 1-year warranty.

1. This TV has setting for the HDMI input that allows you to select the HDMI Audio or Analog(red/white wire) audio. Make sure this is correct

2. Most cable boxes are DVI not HDMI. If DVI then you actually do need to use those Red/white cables. If HDMI, refer back to #1.

3. The cable box has a setting to select the Audio output, HDMI (digital) or Analog(red/white cables). Just like #1, this has to be set.

4. Contact your cable company to help you set up the box correctly. JVC can probably help you check the TV

Sorry, this has no easy fix. The good news is you do not need an LCD Panel. The bad news is the Video Processor has a problem.
This TV has x3 Boards. The one you should replace first is the one in the middle. If this doesn't fix it, try the one on the right. The Part #s are on the Boards if you wanna try ebay.

SOURCE: I have a JVC LCD

You need an Analog Board. It is the one in the middle. You can find it on ebay for $50 I think.

How to replace JVC lt-42x688 t-con board.

Assuming this is the same as my jvc 42x788 the small t-con board is near the top of the tv. It's behind the main panel that the other boards are mounted to. You don't have to take that main panel completely off, just take enough screws out to pull it out far enough to reach the t-con board. Also watch for any wires that need to be unplugged to get more room pulling the top of the panel out.

Why is the Power lamp flashing on my JVC LT-37DS75SJ LCD TV

In most cases your power supply has gone south. You can likely get a power supply repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com . Its usually a fairly easy DIY fix

How do i get to an hdmi channel?

INPUT:
Selects the signal input source for the television: VIDEO-1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 for video devices like
VCRs, DVD players, or camcorders.
Press the V1, V2, V3, V4 or V5 button
Notes:
• When you return to TV mode, press the RETURN+/TV button or direct 10 key pad or CHANNEL
+/- button.
• You can also access by pressing the INPUT button on the side of the TV instead of the remote.
This was taken directly from the manual which you can download and view here:

NO HDMI INPUT

1. Press "sleep" on remote so that "0mins" is displayed
2. press "video/video status" and "display" simultaneously to display service menu
3. go to "self check" menu. You need to go to "Digital Service" then "Self check" for some models.
4. Power off the TV while in self check mode
5. unplug tv then plug it back in
6. turn on TV and test the HDMI

Cant hook up HDMi cabe from PS3 to JVC

1. check the input that the PS3 is connected to
2. select that input on the TV
3. Press and hold the [power] button on the PS3
4. perform the video setup for the PS3

My guess is that you don't have the HDMI setting correct on the PS3.

My tv picture cuts off at the top, losing scores or tops of heads

Have you tried the "Aspect" button below the menu keys of the remote? Try "Full" Aspect and see if this improves things for you.

Hope this helps.
