Use DeBruce Polish. DeBruce will remove the rust and pacify the surface. DeBruce also works great on ceramic cook tops grills, chrome windshields and more. We buy DeBruce Polish at debruce polish.com

Hamilton Beach stand mixer, model # 45 917B. Which beater goes in which hole?

I do not think it matters the plastic disc may be to keep beater fro mixing bowel. i would try it and see what happens, you could switch holes after trying it.

I just got an old Hamilton Beach stand mixer model G, do I need to oil it somewhere\

Yes, they do need periodic oiling and greasing. You just need to get inside it. Grease on gears and a little oil on shafts. and bearings.

Model H was discontinued in the 70's. You might find beaters either directly from Hamilton Beach or on Ebay. There aren't many small appliance repair shops any more, everything now, is considered disposable.
