It can run without the throttle cable as long as where you pointed in video down by the motor, you get a piece of wire or clamp or something of that sort to keep it open. Problem is it is hard to control what speed of rpm. Best would be to order a whole new throttle cable. They come complete in line and they are real easy to put on as you can see there is only a couple screws that hold them. The throttle cable is only designed like your cars gas peddle would work. As you press the gas peddle it opens up the carb to put more fuel in.

The throtte cable most likely is stuck do to it fraying apart. Just plain warn out. However you can try and spray on the parts you can get to. Do not use wd-40 that is not good as it just gathers dust and debre. Go your local auto parts store, they actually sell cable grease designed for this, almost like the same stuff they use on motor bike chains.

I spun my throttle all the way around trying to fix a tassel and I felt a slight tug. now motorcycle is stuck wide open when you crank it up. throttle cable is not broke

may be your throttle assembly has moved round a bit
and has snagged the throttle cable
you sometimes also have a throttle cable adjuster somewhere
along the cable the outer housing may have come out of its location

Throttle cable stuck

I would suggest that the reason the cable broke use that table was seized in the first place. To see if this is the case disconnect the cable at both ends and try to move backward and forward manually. If you are able to move the table at all then I would suggest getting either a new cable or one from the auto wreckers.unfortunately the only way that you can unsieze a seized table involves many hours of lubricating the old cable by shaking it in a solution of diesel or some sort of rust penetrator.Regards

The first (and easiest) thing to check would be the actual throttle cable itself. When you look under the hood at the engine, you will see the end of the throttle cable on top of the intake towards the left of the engine and closer to the firewall. With the engine off, grab the end of the cable in the throttle body and see if it appears to be stuck. Try to twist the throttle body linkage towards the right (it's spring-loaded but easily moved by hand) and then release it. If it snaps back to the original position, then it is more than likely not the issue.

After the throttle cable check, look for air leaks. An air leak will confuse the fuel injection system and cause a wide range of issues, one of them being the symptoms that you are describing. Look at the large rubber boot and hose at the left side of the engine going to the air filter box. If the rubber is dry-rotted and cracked, it may be leaking air. Check all of the rubber hoses for the same thing. Replace any missing or damaged rubber hoses and this should make a big difference in how the car runs.

F250 7.3 L Diesel. Have no use of gas pedal.

Check the throttle linkage make sure nothing is broke also check your throttle body and make sure nothing is stuck. If those check out then check out the pedal itself and make sure that the shaft is pulling the throttle cable the way it is supposed to and no throttle wires are stretched
