Miele w 1213 washing machine drum rubbing badly. It spins perfectly, but when finished drum is slightly offside and squicks.

Machine only as 2850 operating hours on it. Technician came in, opened door, spun drum and proclaimed that its the "aluminum plate attached to the back of the drum. It's cracked because You used too much soap and because of calcium buildup." He wants to take it back to Miele and it's $1000. To fix it. I've only ever used Persil soap (1/4 cup) and our water is softened. Also, the Miele literature says that these machines should usually run for 7-10 loads a week for about 14 years. The spinning is so smooth, there isn't anything clanking around inside. Could it be something else? Could he actually know what the problem is without opening up the back and having a look?

SOURCE: Help ! I own a Miele Touchtronic W1113. I put to

Hi,

Sounds like you may have flooded the base of the unit and activated the float switch. Tip the unit forward slightly with a towel at the base and all the water will pour out. You should be right to run the unit after that and any other water inside will dry up. it won't rust as it is stainless steel inside.

Or you can post the problem on my board www.avpc.de with photos for solving together and find another cheap used power board for it ...

SOURCE: How do I use the washing machine, a miele novotronic w 969

Hi,
The I is the pre-wash and the III is the main wash where you put the soap powder. the # star looking symbol is the fabric conditioner.

If you don't have a manual you can download this from the miele website.

SOURCE: washing machine not spinning

I had a similar problem and about a week later it didn't wash at all.
Turned out the water inlet valve (one of the three) was faulty. The rubber seal/seat had a small hole and wouldn't open to allow water into the machine.
I wasn't prepared to pay the $213 for a new one so I went to our local appliance spares place and found one that was similar and used the rubber seal/seat from that to replace it. It was an electrolux single inlet valve part #360313 (from memory). Cost me $37. Could've got it for $22 delivered off ebay but I needed it asap.

While spinning, it made a loud noise but finished washing the load while continuing to make the noise especially while spinning fast.

Hi Chantal,
In my many years repairing Miele machines - the most common problem for what you are describing is the underwire from a bra has got in between the inner and outer drum. It's tricky to get out and can be done if you are good with tools and a little technical - but it does involve opening up the machine, removing one of the heating ellements and searching / fishing it out. Another less common reason for this rubbing noise could be the metal heater element bracket that also sits between the inner & outer drum, has bent - but this is normally caused by a bra underwire. Hope this helps.

Why is my washing machine Miele w404 making thudding noises on spin Plse?

Unbalance load???

When in spinning cycle, does your drum start shaking violently and hitting the washer outer walls. Out of balance load.....

Is your machine on level floor. Does it have a play on legs while sitting doing nothing???

Happens for every load, then may be your washer shocks and/or top coil springs have come out or broken..

Or machine drum counter weights broken and drum going out of balance.

Miele W1926 burning smell

The front support seals -felt around the top of the door -are worn out. You can order them online with your model # or call the parts distributor and tell them you need the replacement kit - it comes with the top and side seals. To get them separate is more money. You will have to take apart the front of the unit - top first - then the control panel and then the door (front). It supports the drum. You will need to scrape off the old seals and apply the heat glue for the seals. Put the new seals on and reassemble the unit. This should do it if it was rubbing on the front plastic.

Miele w1113. Washer drum won't spin during wash cycle

I assume you are saying the machine is working except the drums not turning? - you need to see if the belt has come off because thats what i would check first if you hear the motor start/stop after it fills up with water.

Washing machine makes a loud banging noise during cycle and when I check it the machine has changed position (unit is turned slightly sideways) How to correct

Hi
Does this happen every time???
If YES... then the machine is not balanced on the floor well.... the 4 stands on which the machine rests have adjustable screws... You will need to fasten or loosen the nuts that will adjust the height of the legs on which the machine rests.... all the 4 legs need to be firmly on the floor .... If one is too high then the machine rocks on its side...

If NO.. only sometimes...
You are overloading the machine with heavy clothes... distribute your wash clothes by weight...
