My computer suddenly won't recognise my Flip ultra Hd from usb port ok with other devices

You can turn off the Mp4 for a while and re-install the system ,and then you can change if the port is fit the computer ,you can also used a transfer interface to connected the computer .

Have you tried an other USB cable??? have you tried a different USB port on the computer??? try the scanner on an other computer as well, does it have POWER???... eazy stepps to troubleshoot all types of devices is to first make sure the device has POWER, than concentrate on connectivity (cables, ports, etc...) than try it on an other computer, re-install drivers as well..., check for viruses also, when everything is clean and it still not working than replace the device... it's dead (send flowers) ha! just kidding!

ok, you purchase a 4 /8 port USB first. This is a adiitional device which is insatll through USB port. after that you can get additional 4/8 USB port.

Actually I recently spoke to Flip Video about the same thing since I need to get a new computer which will be Windows 7 64 bit.
They said to just plug the camcorder into the computer USB 2 port and the camcorder will open FLIPSHARE on your computer screen and will download the updates itself unless you stop it from doing so.

I had this charging problem with 2 new Flip Ultra HD cameras...red light flashing..nothing on the screen after plugging in the USB port.

I removed the battery..plugged camera into USB port..pc recognized the camera... installed flipshare software..updated software...plugged battery back in..all good.

Why on earth the book doesn't mention these steps is beyond me.

Finally I solved it!!!!
Situation: My Computer (MAC And PC) wasn't recognizing the FLIP ULTRA HD, because it has a corrupted file, but couldn't format because there was no communication between camera and computer

Solution:
1. Charge your batteries until get the FULLY CHARGED icon (Green Battery)
2. then remove the batteries without unplugging the USB 3. Voila...computer recognize the USB

5. Install software in camera...


6. CONTINUE VIDEO CLIPPING!

Remove the battery. Connect the camcorder to the computer's USB port. The computer will show the autostart menu or give a beep. Insert the battery now. Use the 'Safely Remove Hardware' option, stop the device and remove the Camcorder from the Computer. Close the battery compartment. Bingo! The device works :-)

Perform the suggested format, using the device as recognised on USB - don't worry about it not being the flip icon.

Have the same problem with my Flip Ultra HD on my MacPro! Who can solve the problem??
