Does the key pad light when you press a button at night? If yes, the fuse is ok.
Do you have the plastic card with the permanent code in your owner manual packet? If yes, tryit.
report back.

Keyless Entry The keyless entry keypad is hardwired to the GEM. The GEM interprets the inputs from the keyless entry keypad and then controls the associated operation. The keyless entry keypad will be illuminated for five seconds when any button is pressed. Additionally, it will request the illuminated entry feature to turn the courtesy lamps on. If a lock all doors code is entered, the illumination will turn off, as well as request the illuminated entry feature to turn off the courtesy lamps. When pressed, the keyless entry keypad supplies the ground signal to the GEM or the GEM receives a signal from the keyless entry remote transmitter. Then the GEM outputs a ground signal to the appropriate lock or unlock relay which supplies the power to the actuator to lock or unlocks all doors, including the luggage compartment. The keyless entry remote transmitter also unlocks the liftgate or activates the panic alarm by sending a signal to the GEM.

How do I disable the keyless entry so it cannot be used on my 05 navigator.

Fuse 20 (30 amp), passenger compartment fuse panel. See owners manual.

Remove and it will make all power locks and hatch inoperable (electrically) and you will be required to manually lock/unlock all doors and use a key to unlock the drivers door to gain entry into a locked vehicle. The hatch will not operate as it is not mechanical release as are the doors.

If you want only to disable the key pad, you will need to disconnect the pad from the smart junction box... not a task for the average owner. It may also cause a CEL/MIL indication.

If you want to test removing fuse 20, roll down the windows prior so you have access if key entry somehow fails.

You could wire a switch (30 Amp) into the fuse 20 circuit and have a selectable on/off so you have hatch release or all functions when wanted.

My keyless entry pad stopped working replaced the battery and still will not work. I have a 2001 ford taurus ses. how do i resolve this problem by reprogramming the keyless entry pad? I tried the code lock...

Try it with a new remote pad, turn the key back and forth untill the locks jump up and down.. do it slowly , when they jump make sure to leave the key in the on position while pressing both lock and unlock buttons on the remote, they should then jump again telling you that the remote is now programed.

Help with finding keyless door pad codes and resetting

Open the trunk and up under the package tray where rear speakers mount,on the passenger side you will see the module. It will be black and have 3 connectors to it.It will have a sticker on it with a 5 digit code.It will also have a sticker on one of the trunk hindges with this code if someone has not removed it.Here is how the system works:

Keyless Entry Keypad To unlock the driver front door (20124), and disarm the anti-theft alarm control (19A366) (if equipped):
  • Enter the permanent factory code.
  • Enter the owner's alternate code.
To unlock the passenger door(s), press the 3/4 button within five seconds of unlocking the driver front door or luggage compartment door (40110) . To unlock the luggage compartment door, press the 5/6 button within five seconds of unlocking the driver or passenger door(s). To turn on the interior lamps (13776) and light all illuminated components, lift either front door handle (22404) and press any button on the keyless entry keypad (14A626) . To lock all doors, press the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons at the same time. (It is not necessary to enter the key code first.) This will turn off courtesy lamps. To program a temporary code:
  • Enter permanent code.
  • Within five seconds of pressing last button of permanent code, press 1/2 button.
  • Enter any alternate five-digit code within five seconds of pressing 1/2 button.

Combination on car keypad does not open doors

Does the key pad on the door light up? Are there any tears in the key pad numbers? Does the key pad lock the doors?.
There are no fuses directly for the pad.. The key pad is linked directly to the RAP. module. If the locks work from the FOB the fuses for the Module are good. Chances are the pad is no good especially if it don't light up. The RAP module is above the driver side foot well, directly above the accelerator pedal . Hope this helps.
