We have a Combination Asko Washer/Dryer (WCAM 1812). The dryer cycle does not get clothes dry at all (even after hours of dry time), but it does spin during the dry cycle and the washing cycles work well. We already cleaned the cointrap/catch at the bottom and have only used small loads.
Update: The dry cycle is now working! Apparently the automatic overload/shut off on the heating element got tripped. We had a technician out this morning. He unplugged the machine, removed the top of the unit, and simply pushed a little red/orange button that was on top of the heating element. When we plugged it back in the heating element worked again. The technician was able to troubleshoot this by checking the amps while running the dry cycle. But the proof was really when we did a load and the machine heated up (just like it used to) during the dry cycle. This was actually a relatively simply fix - though could be dangerous as you have to open up the electrical area. The reset button is rather inconspicuous and located on top of the heating element, which is long (runs front to back in the center part of the top of the machine - which you can get to by removing the lid/top outer housing) and silver - wrapped in insulation. It's pretty obvious. The button is in a little metal fixture on top of the heating element. The technician told us that the rest can get tripped when the unit overheats. (We think this happened when the laundry tub overfilled and the hose was totally submerged - the machine was working overtime to pump out the water.) The technician also warned that this can happen if the machine gets turned off suddenly mid-cycle - especially during the drying cycle. He said that the heating element gets so hot, it needs to have a gentle cool down period, which is marked on the dryer dial for the last 20 minutes of the cycle. I hope this helps others!
How do you remove the top?? I need to reset this in my machine.
I bought a condo and was happy to see this asko combo installed. I had used it happily in my previous apartment for 8 months without a problem. Everything seemed fine on this unit except the clothes were not drying!!! And came out wet after even 90 minutes of drying so I did some research and found the above posting helpful for resetting the switch. However in my case the switch was fine but there was a belt which was off. The machine use to do the whole cycle but never dried the clothes, even the unit tumbled the clothes around during the drying period. There are two belts behind the machine which drives the dryer. You can see these belts if you remove the top cover. The belts are black and red in color. There are about 12 star screws behind the machine which I had to open and slide the cover off. In my case I saw the red belt inside the floor of machine and reinstalled it back on the machine. Took me about 20 minutes to do the whole thing. I turned the machine on and did the test run with my half load of clothes and it was up and running again. I had scheduled a technician for about $79.99 a visit with $15.00 per 15 minutes increment. I am glad that I fixed it and it is running now. I hope this posting helps someone to fix their asko units too.
my machine is not working (spin button keeps blinking with nothing happening). I've tried on/off and waiting for it to reset. But that didn't work. So reading this, I removed the top and found the tiny orange button. But there doesn't seem to be an obvious 'switch'. If I press on the button, it moves a tiny bit, but doesn't seem to click or change position. Maybe you can look at the attached pictures of the button and let me know if yours looked the same of if I still need to 'reset' it.
My washer/dryer washes great then heats up durning dying cycle but clothes come out hot steamy and wet.. Can someone tell me why?? And how to fix it.

Me too ... doesn't appear to spin dry at all yet still makes noise. Used to spin very fast...
Have you figured this out? I think we are having the same problem (and took the same troubleshooting steps.)
Have you figured this out yet? We are having a similar problem and took the same steps (it sounds like).
Where is the reset button along the heating element? I would rather have a better indication before cutting off insulation. Thanks!
the clothes that were in there appear to have washed but not spun or dry. i have tried unplugging and plugging it back in but as soon as I push the power button the lights begin flashing in unison (start/prewash/extra rinse and all 5 green lights)
