SOURCE: Brother MFC-9440CN Laser Printer how do i set

The only real way to make this printer wireless, is to connect its ethernet port to a wireless router and via the router, send jobs to the printer wirelessly. hope this helps. Cost is about $60-$70 for the router.

Brother mfc-7840W not picking up wireless IP address

It is common, mainly because the MFC connection is lost to your PC. Are you able to print or scan from another wireless PC that you have? If yes, contact your network admin or router oem. If no, reset network card. Run the Setup Wireless Wizard. Make sure you have router info such as SSID, Network Security Key, Authentication Method (Open, Shared, WPA/WPA2-PSK), Encryption (None, WEP, AES, TKIP). Enter those info, it must be CASE SENSITIVE. Just in case you dont know your router info, contact your router oem.
For Advanced Users.1. Click your Wireless Icon at Task Tray2. Right-Click your Wireless Network Name3. Select Properties4. Go to Wireless Security Settings5. Take note of the settings that you have there and enter it again on your MFC
Goodluck! If you still need more assistance. Call us 1-877-Brother. :)

My Brother Printer's wireless cannot connect

1.check the firewall settings. found in the "security" tab or section of windows in the " control panel" you may have to read the users guide for the brother printer found on the CD that came with the printer. To set this up properly.
This is under "allow wireless devices" I believe.

Brother MFC-790CW Printer is not receiving any data from laptop. just gives a filed to print error. On a wireless network, reset router, reset up wireless connection on printer, still nothing. no printer...

this printer uses a 3rd party program to print over the network. try reinstalling the CD software. This will fix it. The problem is that the printer gets lost on the newtork if the router reassisgns it a new IP, other than 192.168.1.66 that it expects. Routers may do this upon resetting. You can reserve the ip address in the router settings, and make it static in the printer, but that is more work. If you can USB print to the printer, this is all that is wrong.

Hl-2170w brother is offline

I just realized what my problem was with this same situation..."Off line". Do the following:

1. Reset the printer to factory default settings: turn off, turn on holding down blue button; after all LEDs light-up release button; All LEDs with go out then flash once.
2. Hook up the printer to an open port on your wireless HUB.
3. Install Brother software (note: go to programs/brother HL-2170 and select remove software prior to reinstalling)
4. Here is the catch: MAKE sure to select the correct encryption code. I was selecting TKIP instead of AES and two things happened...1) the computer did not pick up the printer on the network scan, and 2) the printer will remain off-line.

Once i selected AES, the computer found the printer on the network and viola' no more problems.

I then added my wireless laptop: installed drivers only, the programs scanned and found the printer on the wireless network and that was it. Now both computers are wireless!

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
