My Flair Ari purifier makes much more noise

My unit makes a high pitched whining noise when it runs. It made very little noise ( not noticable) when I first purchased the unit new - about two years ago.
Thanks for your help.

Sounds like Motor or bearing is failing.
You could order parts but you will find it less expensive to replace unit. Than trying to repair.

Please rate. Hope this helped. If i can help you further let me know. Good luck!

I have a Flair air puifier but no ozone smell. I replaced the high voltage transformer( it was a 3500 watt instead of a 5000 watt transformer) The red light now flickers but no ozone smell . It has ne

Your ozone generator may have gone bad. It's the small black rectangular looking apparatus located near the bottom of the unit. It usually has a zip tie holding it to the circuit board. You will have to take the Flair out of it's case to see it. Make sure it's unplugged and remove the bolt from the bottom of the unit. You can then slide the framework out of the casing. It's also possible that it's time to replace your Ceramic Ozone Plates. They have a life expectancy of 2 to 4 years. The Flair has two of them that slide into slots in the rear of the unit. You can see them when you remove the washable filter. All items can be purchased on Ebay. DM

The little light inside does not work

You probably have a burned out high voltage transformer. That's what produces the ozone. Helpful hint...........the high voltage transformer is also the one used in bug zappers

My flair works o.k. except the santinizer doesen't work. I have one ozone plates that is broke on the corner of the plates and there is a black line running through it. Could this be the problem?

The ozone plate will not cause the sanitizer button to not work but it may have caused the button to short out. The sanitizer switch probably needs to be replaced. The plate definitely needs replacing, when there is a crack in the plate it causes an electrical arc which is burning the black line onto the plate. Please remove and throw away that plate.

Hi Teresa,
that is certainly not the smell the machine should produce :)

The smells, other then fresh air, might be 'trapped' in the filter. So washing the filter (top rack of the dishwasher works for the metal mesh filters) might do the trick.

Another trick you can try is to put the purifier on the floor, turn it on high mode (away mode) and put a box over it. Let it run for an hour or two and the smells should be gone.

Make sure you have fairly new plates, to make the machine more effective.
