This dishwasher has a serious electrical fault that caused the safety switch to trip.
You need this to be repaired by a qualified repairer.

Have to slam dishwasher door to make it go electrolux 4000

Hello David Horn - The issue may lie with the door latch; a door switch is used to start and stop your dishwasher. It's a safety feature that won't allow water to flow with the door open. With a faulty door switch, there is a chance your dishwasher won't start at all. Dishwasher door switches are about an inch long. They are usually black but can be red. There are metal prongs on the body of the switch called terminals. Some door switches have two terminals and some have three. If your door switch is OK, check the timer assembly. This controls when and how long power is sent to other controls on your dishwasher. If these controls don't receive power, they won't work. The timer assembly contains a motor. Check this motor as well. It is often cheaper just to replace the timer motor rather than the complete assembly. My last suggestion is to check the cycle selector switches. These switches indicate cycles for washing, drying, and setting the temperature of the water. If one of your switches is the problem your dishwasher may also prevent the unit to start. Dishwasher cycle selector switches tell the timer which cycle to run by opening and closing electrical circuits. Most selector switches are six to eight inches long. They are usually black and have terminals. By testing each one of these parts with an ohmmeter you should be able to determine why your dishwasher is not working. It is possible for other parts to fail but these are the most common parts to check. If any proves to be ineffective, I strongly suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately.

Dishwasher won't start

1) TEST some fuse blown +c. breaker trip , reset.
2) Test the outlet wall, and reset the c.breaker house.
3) Test the switch door, if there are defective or open the starting relais will not start the main motor see the schematic.

How to start kitchenaid dishwasher

1-confirm power make sure breaker is not tripped or fuse is good and no tripped GFI's (no power obviously it won't work) 2-confirm water is on (the timer has a delay that it powers down during it's wait for the unit to fill with water 3-make sure the door is fully closed and latched properly (the door has a safety interlock to prevent the dishwasher from operating while the door is open -- think water sprayed everywhere) 4- beyond this if it is a new install and has never worked call your installer back

Dishwasher does not function. No lights in front panel. Have taken off kick plate and see no wires disconnected. Checked breakers in house. No sign that breaker is tripped.

You need to know if it is getting electric ,if it is then you have an interlock problem like a door switch not making when you close the door and if you aren't then trace it back is it the cord ,the outlet and so on. if you have electric and most of the time you do (there are shutoff switches close by for most dishwashers) the door is a tricky ****** that will drive you crazy. If the gasket is a little off or the door misaligned it won't start. It's a safety to keep the thing from leaking all over your floor, so try those things and let me know . Hint the wiring diagram is usually inside the back panel Be CAREFUL turn off electric if you pull panel

Hi, I have a dishwasher model sgs5022gb/07 that won't fill with water. Also the dial doesn't move round as the program progresses. This has happened before but it corrected itself. It's like...

The flood switch is tripped. This is located under the unit. Unplug or flip the breaker to the dishwasher, take off the black kick plate under the door, 2 screws, and you will see the white plastic "pan". The flood switch is located where you can't really see it but it is on the left hand side wall and is made of styrofoam. The best thing to do is to put some rags in the pan, this is not easy because there is little room to put them, and soak-up the water that has filled the pan. Eventually you will get enough water out that the float will deactivate the switch. What you hear "running" when you turn it on is actually the drain pump, it get activated when the flood switch is tripped.

D1976 machine won't do anything but pump out.

The flood switch must have tripped. This is likely to happen if there is a water leakage.

If you can pull the dishwasher out (after turning off the power and water connections) and tilt it on one side. Wait a little (to let the switch dry up) and then turn it on.

Hope this helps.
