Help! my client keeps getting either a 24.10 error or a 26.001 error after replacing their yellow ink.
26.0:01 is a bad contact in the Ink Supply System for the yellow ink cartridge. (This can be caused by using non HP OEM ink)
Check that the ISS to Cartridge cable is not damaged and is fully connected to the Ink Supply Tubes PCA.
You can also try switching the magenta contacts with the yellow contacts and see if the problem stays with the yellow, or you now have a magenta problem.
If the problem stays with the yellow, then you will need to replace the Ink Supply Tubes and Trailing Cable.
If the problem moves to the magenta, then you just need to repair or replace the contacts (may just need cleaned)
Good luck !
(My money is on bad compatible or refilled yellow ink cartridges)

SOURCE: False empty ink cartridge message
Here is one of the solution for the issue.
check if the serial number of the printer starts with MY66xxxxxx, MY67xxxxxx, or MY68xxxxxx. If your printer has a combination of any one of the above mentioned serial number, then try to replace the ink cartridge and you can replace the printer if it is covered under warranty.
The yellow ink sensor could be corroded and giving a false message.

Hi,
Where did you get the error message on printer or computer?
If you get the message on printer remove all cartridges and reinsert the cartridges and align the ink cartridges. If the alignment page prints successfully then the problem is resolved.
If you get the message on the computer disconnect the usb from computer. uninstall the software and reinstall the full feature software by selecting connect USB later.
