Most of the times, when a route is calculated by selecting Follow Road and Faster Time, with many via points, the unit calculates the route and the display gets stuck at 100% complete. No other button functions and the unit cannot be turned off by normal means. Either the batteries have to be pulled out or the power button is held for about 10 seconds. The unit then turns off but the display gradually fades off. When the unit is switched on again, the route calculation starts again. If the Enter button is not pressed repeated in the beginning of route calculation the unit goes on as described above.
Try re-setting your gps by simultaneously pressing the Enter and Page buttons while turning it on if that doesn't work check your firmware i found the latest one v 3.90 would shut off my gps when recalculating v 3.70 is stable Garmin know that the new firmware can cause problems
I had similar problem and the solution is very simple. After several e-mail exchanges with Garmin I got the crucial point - the fact is that GPS units, when calculating routes, use YOUR CURRENT LOCATION as the starting point, and NOT the first point in the route! So for exampe in my case I was located in Toronto, Canada, and I was trying to caculate route from Lugano, Switzerland, to Bergamo, Italy. The device, however, added Toronto to the route and was trying to calculate a leg from Toronto to Lugano, across the Atlantic :-) I'm not joking, it's true. So the solution is simple - you switch the GPS off and provide the device with a virtual location, close to the stat of the route you'd like to calcuate, and then it wil work. Of course, you must have the correct maps downloaded into the device, complete with route calculation data (they are included in City Navigator Europe, for example). Hope it helps.
My probleme:
When you want to select (established) a route (Finding Location or Planing a Trip) the device machine can not calculate route and displays the following message: "Route waypoint memory is full". The device is Garmin 3760T.
I found the solution:
1. Start the device.
2. Touch "Wiew Map or Map"
3. Touch on bottom right of screen (Speed)
4. Hold your finger on top center of screen for 5-10 seconds (the speed semicircle between Trip A and Trip B). The unit would go into "Diagnostic Page".
5. Select "Clear all user data" and confirm.
Warning: will erase all user-selected data (Home, Recently Found, Favorites, Trip Planner, ....).

Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.
Thanks for your email I will be happy to help. Sorry to here that you
have been having some problems with loading routes into your 60CSX. When
you create a route you can have a maximum of 50 via points. If you have
exceeded this then this could be the reason that the unit is freezing
when you are trying to calculate the route.
I would suggest that you try the following master reset and software
update.
Please be aware that if you have not used your gps for a while it will
take time to download fresh information.
With the unit switched off please press and hold QUIT + MENU + ZOOM OUT
+ POWER
You will lose any data stored on the unit so back your unit up first. I
would also suggest running the latest software update from the following
link, if you have not already done so http://www.garmin.com/support/download.j...
Once all this is done please leave your unit with a clear view of the
sky and allow it to acquire a satellite fix. This may take time so
please be patient. Once you have a fix leave the unit for a further 40
minute to achieve a good almanac update.
