Washer Spin Cycle doesn't work - sometimes

Spin cycle sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Works fine for rinse/wash. Noticed that happened when washing sheets - heavy load. Any chance there's a load limiter that dis enables the spin cycle if too heavy? Happened before - unplugged dryer and plug back in and it worked. Now... on spin, the motor is running but the drum does not spin

Hello T Wright - Based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like more than likely the unit is sensing an out of balance load, which could be too light or to heavy of a load, and the unit will not advance to high speed spin. However, often when a unit does not spin, it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the washer may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.

Testimonial: "Pump drainage was restricted by coins in the filter cup - cleaned it out and wa-la."

SOURCE: Frigidaire washing machine (FTW3011KW0) runs through all cycles, agitates, pumps out water, but doesn't spin, nor does the motor attempt to spin during the spin cycle

Your main switch needs replaced. The motor that drives the switch operates because it goes through the other cycles, so the switch must be bad.

SOURCE: washer fws1233fs1 wont wash but can hear motor running

If you can inspect the shaft that is connected to the motor for physical damages, the better. If there is no physical damages or disconnection, see if you can run the motor without the load just to test it. The motor may be bad or may be going bad.

Frigidaire FWT647GHSO when it gets to rinse first rinse cycle, it doesn't stop filling with water. It won't agitate or spin. It works well in the wash cycle, agitates and spins and advances

probably you've got something blocking the water pump from doing its job properly so check that the water pump is free running emptying all the water if not then there is a blockage in the pump normally ist a button, paper clip or other debris out of a trouser pocket eric

The machine works fine until it reaches the rinse cycle.

The buzzing sound is the cold water inlet valve is getting power but water is not able to enter. You need to have the valve replaced or make sure the cold water is turned on at the sink. Hope that helps, let me know.

Kenmore stack washer and dryer

gabehart....sounds like belt is slipping. Replace it. The water pump is on a separate smaller motor so is not affected by the agitator/spin motor.
