My alcatel 356 says noSIM/SOS only on screen but sim card is still in it and lots of money on phone can you tell me what i can do

PUK- Personal Unblocking Key
Means the SIM card is blocked, usually due to the SIM lock code being entered incorrectly three times.
You need to contact the network operator to get a PUK to unblock the card, or replace with a new SIM.

If I remove the sim card from my iPhone it will show SOS and allow me to make an emergency call only.
This is what sos is for. (Save Our Souls)

So, check your sim card and mobile carrier contract
then sos will be replaced by the carrier name.

you need the right sim card. the reason its saying sos is either your phone is not unlocked or the sim card hasnt been activated

The solution is to hard reset the Alcatel OT 282 by the following key combination, note that it will remove all your data and customization on the phone:
1- Turn off your phone.
2- press # and hold while you turn on the phone with the on/off switch "for the OT 282 it is the hang up red button".
3- The phone will ask you to reset and lose all data, press Yes.
4- Voila! phone works again.
I had the same phone with the same problem and the above solution worked like a charm to restore access to normal phone functionality.

What is Alcatel Model,which network,country it's locked now?

see....note down your sim card number which is on the back of your sim.then from other phone call your customer care..and tell your sim number they will tell you the puck code now enter the puk code and your sim will start working...

i bought my phone throught e-bay too i got optus sim card ask me about secuirty code (sos) i just put 4 zero ( 0000) the phone accepted and un locked try that
