My two new Danby freezers, that are in my unheated garage year round, don't maintain proper freezer temperatures The compartment temperature appears to follow the ambient temperature when the ambient temperature is 0C (32F) and lower. The Danby on-line support states that it's designed that way??? I have an older unit (not a Danby) that works fine outside. Why doesn't the Danby work?
Your garage tempeture is keeping you freezers from getting the unit cold. the new units are lighter because the metal and insulation are thinner which inturn causes extreme outside temps to affect the the inside cooling. the extreme outside temps if below 45 will cause the inside thermostat to read that temp. get your garages up to 45 to 65 for the best operation.
I have a similar problem with danby and have been unable to get help - I now HATE Danby Chest Freezers
