Having a problem using the DVD burner that came with my emachine desktop PC
Burn a DVD disc is quite easy, and it would be easier if you get a right dvd burning software tool for yourself. You could try some easy dvd burning programs such as Leawo DVD Creator which offer a simple interface.
You need to download and install an application that burns (copies) data, video or audio onto DVD's. Such as Nero burning software, roxio etc. You can also use Windows Media player to burn audio onto cd's

NO PC told just a desktop and is 2004 era.
no goal told, what you want to go is first;

the drive front marked DVD-R and DVR-RW
can burn disks and read them , it can read its own burned disk too.
to burn I use imgburn, free.
love mine. used it for decades no problems ever. No coasters burnt
the DVD-r disks are sold at walmart, TDK OR VERBATUM ARE GOOD. MEDIA.
WE USE IT TO DO MANY THINGS
BACKUP DATA TO DVD-R
OR BURN DVDS
OR PLAY THEM.
IT DOES ALL THAT. AND CD'S TOO.
