Emerson tablet i have my little sisters emerson 4.3 inch tablet and she said that she downloaded a bunch of trash on it so now its stuck at the word "tablet" with a spinning circle i went on google but nothing really said how to do a hard reset i tried holding down the buttons to get to it and the only thing that popped up was android with a red hazard sign and it stuck there is there anything i can do with it????

remove all apps that you do not use on a regular basis
download less data clear the trash bin
use the battery saver mode

There is a small hole in the back of your tablet with an "R" or "Reset" next to it. Put a paperclip into the hole and hold it down for half a minute, it should give a little as you are pressing a button inside the hole. When you turn the screen over you will either see only a blank screen or the word "Emerson". That is the tablet going through the shutdown process don't be concerned if you see either as the word only stays on for a short time. Let the tablet sit for 3 or 4 minutes then try to power it back on by holding down the power button. You should see a screen after a few seconds that says "Emerson" that will have a rotating partial circle under it. This should complete your reset. If this doesn't work then you are most likely having a hardware or firmware problem and need to take the tablet back to your place of purchase for support.

With the unit powered on, you unplug it from power source.

Then push and hold the power button for about a minute. THEN, replug back in and turn on. And cross your fingers.

Unfortunately, the only way I've found is to set it to sync automatically via wi-fi. It always resets to 1-1-1970, 12:00, but after it connects to the internet, it sets the correct time. It's a headache, I know. My sister has an 8" Polaroid tablet that DOES keep the right time, so I'd suggest trying out the 4.3" Polaroid tablet if you're set on having one of these budget mini-tablets.
