If you're NOT still under warranty you should at least open the TV and look for a blown fuse near where the power cable enters the set. A lot of times you can buy replacement fuses at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace. Check the fuse. If it is blown, it will be obvious and make sure that the set is unplugged before replacing it. If it blows again, or if it is not blown, your problem is probably in the 'X' volt regulator and you will need professional help with the repairs. good luck!

Nope a very easy problem .. What it is is the relay is stuck on or closed so when you plug in the set the power comes up But the micro hasent told the rest of the set to work yet. So when you hit the power button. its just like you hit the power and it activated the relay and the rest of the set. Now in some rare occasions the driver transistor for the relay was shorted But most of the time its the contacts that weild shut, but you cant just clean them as it will work for a while, but in a month or so you will be in the smame boat. But if you not a tech this repair shouldnt cost you to much because if your not an experienced tech you can not only cause harn to the set but also you yourself BE CAREFULL and take the set to a pro!!!! Good Luck

Silly question but, did you try to reset the TV by unplugging it for 2 minutes then plugging back in? Its worth a shot if nothing else.

"i already paid for the tv so why pay for something that should be readely available to me in the first place I should have access to all the features on the tv ".. WRONG!!!!!!!!!You should have a warranty for this TV but it's old , anyway. First, receive a reference image (let's say CNN).Second:press "Sleep Timer" key and set the value to "0". Then press "Display" and "Video Status" keys at the same time. Third: use "Vol +/-" and " Channel +/-" to select "2.DEF(D)".Go to "D03: V.SIZE" and modify step by step the value for best fitting. There is also switch " SW401" on the main board for centering the image . Finally, press "EXIT" key till you exit the "Service Menu". Don't try to modify anything else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SOURCE: Opening the case of a JVC Remote Control
Not having seen that particular one, remote cases usually have a couple
screws under the battery to lock the case together and then a number of
plastic tabs around the perimiter that hold the joint closed.
find the screws (sometimes they hide them under labels) - I don't know
what it is about screws that manufacturers don't like to show.
Either think they are not cosmetic or don't want us take-it-apart
maniacs to get in. Anyway, get the screws loose then (this is the
hard part) carefully pry open the case joint, feeling where and how the
tabs snap out and then be careful not to have everything inside go
flying when the last one lets loose. Almost impossible to not
leave little gouge marks in the joint.
Hope Ya Fis It!
