I tried to turn my tv on today and the green power light came on and then turned red, its flashing. i have it unplugged now. does this mean its broken? ive had it for 2 years
Yep, its a gonner. If you want to fix it yourself you can save several hundred bucks, but it will still cost you about $400 to do yourself, depending on the problem of course. This set and its samsung counterpart are horribly plagued by faulty ysus buffers. If you wan't to try and fix it, comment again and I'll walk you through the diagnosis process. Its a bit lengthy, I'll prewarn you.

This is the second time I've had this happen with this TV. The first time it was still under warranty. We had a storm and our surge protector was faulty (or so we thought). We had a planned power outage today for our neighborhood so I took my sons out to run some errands....everything was turned off before we left. We got home and I went to turn on the TV and got the red flashing light. I tried shutting the surge protector off and turning it back on but still got the same result (this is a new surge protector...not the same one it was plugged into the last time this happened). The TV is not under warranty any more so I was curious about fixing the TV or how much some one thinks it may be to have it fixed....should we just invest in a new TV since this is the 2nd time this has happened with this one?
